I’m still with you on the optimism stakes, though I’m now of the view that it may be months rather than weeks away. My main concern is avoiding relegation, as I think this is the key to the timing of any action.

Jacobs always seems closer to the pulse than anyone else. Seems plausible what he’s saying rather than the sensational stuff some others put out. Perhaps Ashley realised that relegation was a huge possibility in January.....don’t spend any money.....sell the club post relegation for 80-100m less and perhaps he feels he’s only 30m or so out of pocket.....NAAA, that demands Ashley has actually planned for the future...he never does that?

We will see That’s what doesn’t make sense...if the Takeover’s not close, why gamble with relegation and a £350m Business...Why stick with Bruce when it’s obvious to Barnes and co that this Bufoon is going to take us down. I guess bringing Jones in was his/the clubs way of dealing with the threat of relegation. There's a limited pool of managers available and who's to say they would want to join us anyway? Who knows what was tried to be sorted behind the scenes A “no manager bounce” is probably better than having Bruce in charge?

Think the big question is why he is so willing to stick with Bruce if the takeover still has a chance of happening? Makes no sense to me That is one question that doesn’t make sense to me either unless he still thinks the Takeover is to happen SOON and he’s not prepared to spend more money by getting rid of Bruce and his entourage. A very big gamble indeed if that is the case.

I’ve switched threads deliberately.Although I’m still optimistic that the takeover will still happen, I’m now of the opinion that it may happen later rather than sooner. The legal side of this process is ongoing but seems to be stuck....your guess is as good as mine as to why. Meanwhile issues closer to home, if we don’t get a result against WBA, with 12 games to go and realistically 12-14 points still needed. Is Ashley really going to gamble his £350M Business on Bruce.....Time is running down Mr Ashley...you need to make a decision now.

For once I agree with you.....although still optimistic, I’m beginning to think that the takeover will be awhile coming. The legal side of this, is taking a long time to solve and could still be weeks/months away before a satisfactory solution is reached. Meanwhile our depths of despair at the rear end of the league could cause massive repercussions for the outcome. As I’ve mentioned earlier, Ashley has to now either stick with Bruce and accept the consequences or make a bold decision and get someone in to give the club a b boost.

There are lots out there for the doubters to feel that the takeover is over...they may be proven to be correct....likewise I believe there is enough going on with the legal case and other little bits of info to provide some of us with optimism that the takeover may still happen.....We are all desperate for it to happen and I’m sure those who believe it’s all over will be glad to be wrong, if that is the case. I believe the biggest problem is our survival, and the next few weeks may be pivotal in everything. Ashley has a decision to make shortly...stick with Bruce or get rid....

It’s stupid that there are two threads in the first place as people are going to voice their opinions either way. People being positive about it we’re getting chased by people negative so they set up their own version. I set up the first thread back in March last year as “Futile optimism-The Saudi Takeover Edition” as a way of discussing the potential takeover...Days before it became a possible reality. The thread morphed into the “Takeover thread” when there was a good chance the takeover would happen........By May/June/July it looked down and out and we started the bickering war of its definitely on/definitely off.....So i started a new thread “Positive Optimism” as a means of bringing together those people who still felt there was a chance of the takeover happening, a place to put in hearsay/tweets etc rather than reopen the “Braindead” Thread. There is still a place for both threads...The takeover Thread provides the opportunity for deep discussion, whilst the Positive thread provides a light hearted break for those who want, perhaps, to escape reality?

I can’t speak for manorpark but mine is based on everything i read and understand about the whole situation, and the odd bit of 2nd and 3rd hand info I get from time to time. I’m sorry, I can’t let that go. What exactly have you read that makes you so convinced that this will go ahead? And no a tweet from some guy called Harry doesn’t count. Everything right now points to the complete opposite. Richard Masters basically said to Chi in a letter that they believe that PIF & MBS are not seperate. Jacobs has also since said that PIF use a government web address & have government staff. The US in a report state that MBS ordered the use of PIF planes in the murder of kashoggi. That is an example of reading info and coming to a conclusion. Every single thing points to PIF & MBS not being seperate entities. From what I read Manor Park’s only reasoning is constantly ‘omg look at who Ashley has taking his case’ from what I gather from this thread all your info comes from Keith and couple twitter itk called Harry and R E Maine, the latter who indulges himself in weird boxing related analogies. Desperate stuff I’m 100% all for being positive if there is actual positive info but this weird doubling down delusion is too much man Back again, winding us all up.....what’s wrong with you. Why don’t you just let us believe what we want to believe. it’s nothing to do with being positive or optimistic. After 14 years of Ashley’s tenure we’re all desperate for a change of direction. If takeover doesn’t happen, and there are many who will be proven to be correct, if this is the case, we’ll be still left with more years of misery.
