Earlier this year QC Mark Pelling shone a light on what the arbitration dispute would entail, he said: "Concerned exclusively with the question whether the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be a 'director' under the Premier League's rules and not with the question (of) whether if Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was a 'director' it would be disqualified". The text of the letter makes it abundantly clear that the sole issue that the Premier League had decided - and then only provisionally - was that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia satisfied the definitions so that it was to be regarded as a director." The judge added: "The only dispute that can or will be decided in the current arbitration is whether this conclusion is correct". I might be misinterpreting that, but I read it as the dispute is whether the kingdom of Saudi would be a director…..in other words is PIF separate from the Saudi state…however I’m no lawyer and bow to professional judgements in this.

I can’t disagree with your view about Beloff…..but with Arbitration only dealing with “Whether PIF are separate from Saudi State”, I think the evidence will show this to be the case and even the most biased of Judges will have to concede this point……I would like to believe that despite his leanings towards the PL, his impartiality as a judge would overcome any personal ties and accept the evidence put in front of him as beyond favouritism……At least I hope so!

Mind you Arbitration is only about one issue,I’m led to believe, and that “is PIF separate from Saudi State”…piracy should only come into the discussion if Arbitration came down against this. The 3 judges have to decide if, based on the evidence, PIF is a separate entity, and again,I’m led to believe, there is plenty of evidence out there to confirm that is the case. If the judges agree with this point, then there should be no reason for the PL to block the takeover……we just have to hope the evidence convinces the judges on this count.

Spot on IMO...Masters and Hoffman appear to be totally “in the pocket” of The 6 and their Media partners.

From this afternoons Chronicle. ”A court document referring to Ashley's case, read recently: "In reaching the director decision, the defendant failed to apply the rules in a fair, objective and non-discriminatory fashion and/or used its powers under the rules for the improper purpose of promoting its own commercial interests and/or the interests of its business associates and/or certain of the Premier League member clubs in a manner that was detrimental to competition and consumers." Not seen this anywhere else….where did this document come from.

Am i right in thinking that if Liverpool pip Chelsea to 4th and Chelsea win the Champions League Final….Liverpool will miss out, as 5 English teams are not allowed.

Are we allowed to disagree with you or are you going to shut us down….We’re in here to try and be happy about the prospects of the takeover. The trouble with the takeover thread is that when we do appear in there (Whitley,Manor park ), just to name 2, they get baited and scolded for their views…which is why the Positive thread was set up..to allow us to wallow in our dreams of what might be. I’m sure i speak for all of us, when i say that discussion in this thread does not have to be from the converted, but we don’t like it when are goaded for our views of hope. There seems to be a lot of posters out there who like to wind up people for no good reason…..if you shut us down, well just have to find another avenue for our beliefs.

It’s not the same fucking topic…this one is for loonies like me, who only want to wallow in pure blind optimistic shite….if you want to debate the takeover go into the takeover thread….I started it 14 months ago, just so you can spend time arguing the many thrilling idiosyncrasy’s.

Defence is ok…trouble is there’s been no protection to it from midfield…I mean Shelvey/Longstaff…..like a fox protecting a henhouse.

Get the takeover done…….give them a few weeks grace….then throw the bloody book at them.Masters,Hoffman, BEIN and Liverpool/Spurs should be fully exposed for their involvement in this fiasco….Masters and Hoffman in particular should be hounded out.

Your lucky you felt positive about our position….for me I’ve been on a knife edge right up to yesterday, even though we were 9 points clear…..I’ve never trusted Bruce to be able to get the players to perform if Fulham started to win games.IMO things changed after Brighton and I don’t think Bruce had anything to do with it.I’m convinced that the players put in that performance because they hoped/thought Bruce would be sacked on the basis of that performance.When Ashley then came out and said Bruce is staying, I believe the players got together and decided to forget their grievances and start to perform. Bruce should never be given any credit for the resurgence and “manager of the month”….you’ve got to be kidding?

It’s sickening to see the media gang up on Arteta….He must go,not good enough….European Semi Final, Mid table PL…The same media who are saying Bruce is doing a good job….The whole media love in for the “supposed”Big 6 is embarrassing and repugnant.

As well as the takeover happening, I want everything about Masters,Hoffman, BEIN, and the “supposed” Big 6 to come out..the PL can not be allowed to get away with this monstrous violation of power.

Ignore him...much of it is no more than guesswork, and posting a dialogue he wishes to happen.....he is, after all a journalist who needs clicks, so he puts out several versions of what it might mean, so he can cater for both groups of supporters....those wanting takeover and those who don’t....No one really knows how positive this latest law suit is....it might even turn out to be non productive...time will tell.

He hasn’t a clue…..knows no more than us and makes sure he leaves all avenues open.
