I stayed at motel one, was really nice. My dog shat in the shower so there’s definitely one room to avoid (don’t remember the number, but your odds look good). -

No problem pal - remind me nearer the time, they’re yours if you want them. -

Paul Mitchell to leave club by mutual consent at end of June (Official)

Perhaps I should explain better. In my line of work, I frequently come across people who are interested in nothing other than money and self-enrichment, with no second thought as to impact on others or even a wider community (such as here). They uniformly speak an American-style business semi-formal and their answers, when drilled down, never provide any useful information. They also instinctively, almost as a reflex, deflect blame onto others when put under scrutiny. They're often not intelligent but have had enough education / work time that they can use longer words and coin some phrases convincingly enough. The interviews I have read with this guy completely remind me of those types of people. To my mind it's fairly clear that he's self-exculpating in that interview, and some of its basic premises don't stand up to scrutiny. It's also not the most intelligent thing to declare in public that your opinion - as an alleged expert in player transactions - is that some of our squad were overpriced. I read what he's saying as we're going to be spending less and that Howe is under scrutiny because, at board level, last season's finish is not sufficiently excused by injuries and circumstances. In conclusion, it gives me the creeps, because moneyfucks give me the creeps. Is that OK? -

Bloke gives me the creeps, my sense is that he’s a salaryman and money-first. Really wish he wasn’t here. -

I don’t like that “on the grass” shit that keeps coming up. All management speak. Pipe down and identify some players to improve us. -
My bad - fuck that gaggle of nonces
-
To be fair to them they’ve had 2 really tough games. Still seems they fall into the trap / are a willing participant in the drama machine of amplified reactions to everything Man U do. There’s no shame in losing at Brighton and getting pasted off Liverpool - the same happened to us last year.
-
I’m on one, thanks. My bad then - weeks have become months without noticing.
-
Is it though? The guy hasn’t achieved a fundamental objective. It’s not wild to say “that’s not good enough”.
-
Moreover, if this was eg Manchester United you’d be pointing and laughing.
-
I’ll reframe the question. If a fan of another club told you that a new sporting director had arrived in the summer and 2 months (not a few weeks, which is a pisspoor attempt at gaslighting) in to the job had not signed any first team or first team adjacent players while unsettling a great manager, would you tell them to change their sheets?
-
Can you direct me to a positive contribution he’s made?
-
It’s wilful ignorance to have no complaints about Mitchell at this stage.
-
Suspicious and currently unwelcome. Concerned that he’s just another suit seeing NUFC as a payday and its fans as gullible wallet-bearers. I anticipate complete and total silence from him over coming months, which in my view paints him as a coward.

I don’t think anybody can satisfactorily answer the question “what does Paul Mitchell bring to NUFC?” - his arrival has resulted in a net negative for the club. In my view, that currently makes him unwelcome. I don’t trust his or Eales’ intentions. His purpose is to improve the playing side of things, ultimately. He’s set that back by not improving the squad while competitors have improved and by unsettling a very popular and talented manager. More people should be concerned about Mitchell remaining in post in my view. -

Go and have a read of the Waugh and caulkin article. I don’t believe I’m over reacting, I believe those are fair questions that he should face. Perhaps you have the answer - can you make a case that Paul Mitchell has made a positive difference to NUFC?
