Nivea absolutely broke me

I politely disagree with them.

Pope underrated here I think. I’m happy with him and don’t think Trafford will be guaranteed a start. I don’t think it’s a mega priority position but they know best

So we now have a transfer hoover as well as the transfer bath? Sweet

No sane person would choose Sunderland over Borussia Dortmund unless they were eg a lifelong fan. Nothing robotic about it, completely rational and sensible

Be difficult for Elanga

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

Our squad is too small! Stop signing squad players! -
I reckon Howe might just be on an actual holiday. I really hope he is away from it all for a few weeks as much as he can achieve that. That was an incredibly taxing season for him without even considering the serious health scare.

7. Is an overrated shithole. That beach is fucking minging.

Is this news to you

I think you can make a plausible case for him to stay but it’s all premised on him barely getting a kick in meaningful situations. Maybe he can recover some form but it feels (and has felt for a season) that’s it’s time for both sides to part ways. I think too many of the crowd don’t want to see him and he knows that. Eddie can work miracles so I’d not rule it out, but it doesn’t seem rational currently to say that there are good footballing reasons to keep him. I think even the sentiment favours him leaving - it’s better for him to play regularly and i suspect it would be better for collective hearts to grow fonder after a period of absence. I think “good servant” is a bit patronising; he’s had some really good seasons or parts of seasons and been a useful performer in some good Newcastle sides. I don’t think I’ve ever seen enough consistently to say he’s even a bit-part player in a squad with aspirations of existing at the top table. Sometimes it is just that way; our ceiling is now higher than his. It doesn’t need to be unpleasant or nasty, just thank you and genuinely best wishes. In that way we’re all too harsh on him.

I’m going to take you back, to a time far, far away, when Newcastle qualified for the champions league having won a trophy.
-
I think finishing 17th makes it untenable for him. Even allowing for the fact that they haven’t used funds well, that’s unjustifiably below par for what they’re supposed to be. I also think the players don’t take him seriously.

Thought to be considering, eh

Not sure Amorim suits his own system

Think Joan’s Given Shay a deFlowering

“I don’t know the answer but will present something vague as insightful and knowledgeable in the hope that readers haven’t figured out my grift”.

I understand the logic if they sell him but he’s carried them for a few years. Your worst season and then worst player gone; surely hard to return from?!
-
That’s definitely the thing to be miffed about

Joan’s Given Shay Headache

Absolutely the same here. Thought he was a grifter on first sight and never thought otherwise. Made no sense at all to publicly shit on a transfer policy that gave us the spine of a fantastic side.

Rather have the freedom of Newcastle over manager of the year anyway, me. Can’t herd sheep on the town moor with a MOTY.

Ah sorry I thought you’d said there not here! My mistake

The Chewsee fans I know were all enamoured with Abraham the season they couldn’t buy anyone IIRC. Can’t remember which flop they replaced him with (Lukaku II? Twokaku?) but think the debate at the time was had that he’d been hard done by. Even so, probably not outrageous to think they could do better. Did well at Roma but hasn’t made an impression at Milan. You’d be surprised if he featured for England again.
