The false equivalence of the accusation that others are being overly positive is no better tbh. Most people are clearly a bit concerned but, with the information available, remain hopeful we will make a signing. I mean this as politely as possible - you do see that if Newcastle don’t sign anyone else that it’s still fun to support Newcastle?
-
“Loathe to criticise” - you literally criticise in the preceding sentence for fuck’s sake

He’ll give a non-committal answer or say was planned to rest him.

“This is my mate Barry, he’s a cunt”.

By laughing loudly and vigorously and calling it out for the Herculean quantity of horse shit that it is.

That doesn’t stand up to the most elemental of scrutiny: they play in the same position and Murphy has started in place of him twice. Even if we didn’t sign anyone else they’re not guaranteed starters if they don’t play well enough.

Insert “history” before the question mark and I’ll need to fetch my best oven gloves to handle this take

I think drivel is too mild mate. Some of it is psychodrama and a good chunk just actual fiction but somehow for the sake of winding oneself up. I find it bizarre

To be honest it does just feel like a small group of people projecting their own problems onto things. I could just not rise to it tbf

Yeh there’s criticism and discussion and then there’s a Gerard Way circlejerk of tears brought on by lack of new things bought this week. This isn’t supporting a club, it’s legitimately detrimental to those trying to do so.

No, you’re onto something for sure. Investigative journalists in the family?
-
And lastly, “we don’t demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries”. Do some of you fuck

“I’ll go forward with this squad with pride”. This is the language of anarchy and boardroom level rebellion, you’re all right

It was widely reported that Mitchell tried to finger Howe’s lass. I’m too lazy to look it up but my memory never fails. It’s also fact - I have no evidence or source but I’ll state it boldly nonetheless - that Eddie Howe has said if you don’t give me Marc Guehi then I’m resigning and you can get to shit. Totes facts.

When everyone was last panicking about lack of ambition and squad depth towards the end of a window.

I can’t help you if you’re hellbent on searching every negative. The point was just made that it was a uniquely rare thing to do, but it isn’t. You’re just finding things to latch negativity and anxiety onto. Take 10 mins: what’s the worst that will happen if we don’t sign anyone? Newcastle might not be as good as you hoped? Life and times move on. Christ’s sake gents.

Twaddle. Villa, Brighton, Manchester City, RB Leipzig… that’s in 5 seconds of thinking while I finish a shit

We are contemplating doing it with Trippier.

I sort of agree but there are too many debatable calls in football to be that absolutist about it. The way it’s been deployed hasn’t helped: it should either clearly be based on a pure technical application of the rules (in which case the decision was rightly in our favour), or referee’s interpretation with the benefit of different angles and slower time (which may not have gone in our favour). I don’t think it’s a travesty of a decision or a naked injustice. It’s tough luck and a bitter pill but the decision is logical and justifiable for me.

It’s our side of borderline, if that makes sense. I think the benefit of the doubt just tilts in our favour (which is why I’m surprised he ruled it out, I didn’t think there was enough in it to change).

Not really. Pope the man, Trafford the sub/apprentice, Ruddy the emergency backstop that fills the English quota and can help develop Trafford and Gillespie because he’s a nice smiley geordie and I imagine you need 4 keepers for training purposes.

Explained above very well by @KDT.
