On a lighter note a Rangers fan at work asked me if Amdy Faye was any good...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/6971909.stm The 3rd paragraph just made me chuckle even more. Suppose Souness sold it to him too.

Right now it looks like its a 7% rise for next season on a Leazes ticket for example. Roughly thats £1.70 a game. Allowing for the expectation that prices would go up a bit to say £500 for next year it looks like a good offer based on just the Barnsley game. So a pound a game rise for next season and one 'free' game thrown in. The down side is the payment up front. Stumping up this cash asap may be completely out of reach for some and for those that can there would be some small loss of interest . This though would be fairly minimal even at a decent rate of 5% would possibly get you £25 in 12 months. This would be lessened by using the instalment deal to maybe half. Lets call that the price of another game in the cup (which isn't guarenteed). In the clubs benefit is the possibility that we did a 'Leeds' and the company changed hands the new owner may not be oblidged to honour any previous agreements for pre-payments. But we might need a lawyer to give us some options on that. While it seems too tempting, it makes good sense to the 23,000 approx currently on the DD scheme assuming they can afford to pay for 2 seasons worth of tickets in a 12 month period.

Will Jol give us a David O'Bleary style "Young.....English....Time to Gel.....Please" interview.

Hillarious. What are the papers going to write tomorrow? The media darlings who in the old days used to be part of the big 5 (Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton and the Arse) even though they got nowhere near winning the league, are now talked up to be 5th at worst. Hell will freeze over before you see them mounting a Jol out campaign though. mackems.gif

Any Toon fan going to Budapest should be making a beeline to the Szusza Ferenc Stadium formerly known as the Megyeri úti where Bobby Moncur and the boys did their stuff in 1969. I went there in 2005 and saw them play, and win 3-1 against Lombard. While the ground was only half full the atmosphere was good, entry cheap (£3) for good seats and there seemed to be a good bond with them and their fans. On the last day of that season in true Toon style they threw away the league by losing to Videoton at home and allowed Debrecen to take the title. Debrecen then lost their Champions League qualifier to the Macedonian (!!) champions. Ujpest lost to Vaduz of Liechtenstein in their UEFA cup match so Hungarian football is not exactly top drawer at the moment. This year Debrecen also lost in the 1st round qualifier. If you go on a weekend then you'll be able to catch 1 game as there are 4 teams in the city. MTK, Ferencvaros, Ujpest and Vasas. The latter have the dubious claim to fame of being the only team the mackems have ever beaten in Europe. I've also been to see Espanyol v Betis (2-4) and slightly less glamourously FC Atlantis of Helsinki v Hameenlinna which was a great game finishing 3-2.

I think you'll find egg chasing is Rubgy Union due to the ball being slightly rounder, while the 8 piece ball in league is more like a peanut. Rugby union is also know as kick and clap due to the fans mentality in applauding someone kicking the ball out. The hugging big is from the fact they don't leg go when tackled. Lesson over... Oh and we're 1-0 down apparently -
