I was very impressed by Bilic last time in Zagreb. All the talk about 4-5-1 and on that night 3-5-2 he basically said "systems are dead". And he's right. The game against the mancs was the worst i think just based on the fact we battered then and got shafted. Plently of other games have been disapointing but only from the result perspective like the finals and semi's. Blackburn, Liverpool then Florist in the same year were pretty bad one after the other. Marseille and Lisbon were pretty bad but the latter and then the semi for a week of kicks in the nuts will take some beating. Smaller games like losing at Everton in the cup in 95 really annoyed me as do most cup exits, and losing 3-0 at Liverpool one night when i got so narked i broke my toe kicking a wall. That freaky bloke Pringle at Charlton really wound me up when we drew 2-2 down there for no particular reason. It's the hope that kills you.

Not sure how many folk who were at the game have got back to post yet but after many beers in Camden i'll have a go. I didn't have a problem with playing a narrow midfield to steady the game. The problem i did have was that when we were chasing the game the wrong players were in the right positions. The best left midfielder we have is the Zog so why did Emre play out there. Why when we changed the shape did Ron go wide when Jimmy is better there. And unless Faye was injured why did Beye go to CB? That was directly resposible for their winner. I'll not even mention taking Martins off when EMO stayed on after doing jack. By this stage i reckon we should have 4/6 poins more based not on performance but on target and we all know what Sam thinks about them. We should be 4 places higher in the league and now need to take full points from Pompey, the Mackems and the scouse to have had a good start. 4 points from those games and we'll have had a bad start. No numbers although i think i was £3 single and £5 return but no option on a Monday night last year. This year as its a Saturday people may just wander back locally so its a bit quieter. We went to a pub in the middle of the town away from the station and it was fine and much nearer the ground. I think the cab was only £6.
