Will this be the first time this season we score three goals in a competitive fixture?
-
Lots can happen between now and then, but there are three differences IMO which suggest Turnbull has a good chance of being correct: 1) they have better depth outside their starting XI than we did 2) Emery actually uses his substitutes a bit more 3) their system isn't as reliant on pressing quite so much. Let's see.

Pope can't clear the ball without hitting the dugout. Chrissake.
-
That was a great save
-
"The save is spectacular" Footage shows ball hit straight at him.
-
Villa are annoyingly good.

He was miles off tbf. You'd be raging if that call was missed against you.

Joyless.

Ice cold pen, wew.

That's a bit embarrassing tbh

Bring on Brereton Diaz.
-
Transferred out Gvardiol and Gordon this week.

Good performance, good result. I want to see if this sticks. Think it's a bit easier in some ways to show that kind of intensity against Man City. Want to see it vs a Fulham or an Everton.

Agreed.

Schar casually bending one in from 25 yards vs pinging the ball into the hoardings from 5 yards out with 90% of the goal to aim at/Isak to lay it off to

A much-needed punch in the mouth. We didn't have a perfect transfer window, we don't have a perfect squad, but we have more than enough than talent and depth in the squad to be much better than what's been shown. Not sure if Howe doesn't know his best XI, or if he's tinkering to gameplan for opponents (which would strike me as somewhat obsequious), but either way he will sink or swim this season.

Underrated point.

5 games in, virtually no injuries, no real development of style (although last week was a bit better). Concerning. Really hope Howe has a plan for the season, haven't seen one so far this year apart from grafting out victories.

Well deserved lead. No grip on midfield, Bruno not offering much beyond cheerleading so far. Very slow on transition, and he's trying to carry the ball from deep rather than getting Gordon and Barnes more involved. Get Tonali on.

I've not played in a few years but I'm in for Lockwood @Yorkie

Read that too. Really good piece. Think there is a middle ground that the likes of Foden, Odegaard etc score (or get rebounds/deflections) from with a reasonable return... not screamers, but not in the box either.

Having players who can shoot from distance is severely underrated across football IMO. From the Beeb. Dude needs more run!
