And earlier in the season in the 5-1 loss, Ashley just completely forgot that Pardew owed him money. You moron. Ashley put a bet on NUFC to lose 5-1 that day.

How? By turning a blind eye to multiple red card offences? Having a stern word to the first couple of offenders to give fair warning is fine, but then failing to be authoritative and follow through with his warning is weak and meant they could continue doing it with little or no repercussions (ie. yellows at most). Spurs and Chelsea were both sneaky cunts in the things they were doing, he was trying to keep a hold on the game. You could say that he should have been tougher with them, but that would have just had both sets of players rolling around knowing they could get people sent off imo. Had he not done it in the way he did it, I think it would have been just as bad but with play-acting rather than dirtyness. It's pathetic for the self-respect of those who would dive as you say, but that scenario is not an acceptable deterrent to referee correctly and that scenario is still better than the touchline brawls, squaring up and ridiculous late challenges we saw every 2 minutes in the second half. Having said that, I fucking loved watching it so maybe he did the right thing.

Happened to Stephen Carr with the League Cup, now Danny Simpson with the Premiership, next up: Gabriel Obertan - Champions League winner.

Egregious officiating.

They're not? Anyway, loved that end to the game. Brutal. Clattenburg was absent at the wheel though. How did that end 11 vs 11?

Really loose marking, but nicely worked

Released that from his feet nicely. Will bag a brace now I've said that, of course.

Hope Costa gets sent off and is banned for the next game. Dross this season.

Hope Chelski are this motivated vs the unwashed

The mackems probably have lots of inspiring powerpoint presentations to attend on their days off too.

Never met him, he's never read the forum, but feel like I owe him an apology even if he hadn't been has productive as he has been lately, he tries hard and cares which counts for a lot. Still think his decision making is insane but that's okay.

Very fond of him during his time here, didn't mind the Arsenal protest, or going to PSG but wish the worst professionally for him now he's voluntarily thrown in his lot with cuntfeatures for a second time, knowing what he did to our club.

8.5 after Defoe's goal. Historically attacking football has played into the hands of their dinosaur tactics and they've struggled against fellow dross (other than NUFC), so I have more faith in Everton and Watford than Chelsea. Just hope Lukaku, Ighalo and Deeney have their shooting boots on to put the game out of Defoe's spawny reach.

It wasn't a freak win. We played them off the park. I suspect he meant freak result in that side had never played as well as they played that day or shown any capability of doing so.
-
He's benefited from the improved form of the team tbh. He was pushed to his worst form by too much falling on his shoulders due to the rest of the midfield not knowing how to attack, so he had to over-extend himself. Delighted that Chinese deal fell through.

Feel foolishly optimistic about a NUFC victory for some reason. The circumstances of the game are such that we play right into their hands - they need a point, we need a win. They will defend for 60 minutes then hope for a bit of magic to nick it. Benitez needs to make sure the players are switched on and have attacking urgency and purpose, without being reckless and porous when off the ball, from minute 1.
