  1. I think by the time Debuchy and Remy were wrapped up the fans would be satiated, and would be more willing to buy into the "we tried to get one or two more over the line" spiel. That's just managing expectations, and typical from the regime though, so nothing new/outrageous there. I actually think they were right not to play into Remy's hands and bid £70/80k per week. He's not worth that much. It would disrupt our payscales throughout the squad too, as has been noted. The problem was the last transfer window. The regime has less than 14 days now to go out and put things right. They should be working round the clock, and in terms of transfer fee - they should make that full £8m which would have spent on Remy - available to sign a CB and/or a forward. Transfers have been completed from wire-to-wire in the space of a single day, previously. They have 14 or so. Obviously, do what due diligence you can, but cut the brinksmanship, don't antagonise the selling club and pay fair value for affordable players.
  2. Wasn't really relevant. He's already been got several times over, man. The internet is an unforgiving place
  3. Could have killed him and everyone in the stadium. Behold! The instrument of your liberation! It's a lovely, lovely tackle.
  4. Fair play to Southampton. Good resolve to keep going at 2-0 down away from home to Chelsea.
  5. Not as straight-forward as that though IMO. Swansea provide him with good service. Ideally we need a forward who can help to provide Cisse with good service, as well as chipping in with a goal here or there. Tiresias: I agree we are desperate, but there are lively, energetic forwards out there.
  6. Don't think it would be personally. We got rid of Best and Lovenkrands and didn't replace them. We're pretty much down on 3 strikers since the summer. Graham and one other would be nice. If he was the replacement for Best/Loven, then maybe - but he isn't. He's the replacement for Ba I actually think Leon is minter than Graham too, FWIW. Or he was - haven't seen him play lately.
  7. Danny Graham would be the definition of a desperation signing.
  8. Not watching, but I imagine they're trying to stay vaguely fresh for the weekend games. Football is a joke these days.
  9. Once the 60th minute mark passes he instantly turns into Shola Ameobi too. Better for Chelsea is he gets sent off.
  10. He plays for himself. He hates us.
  11. Anyone find the seemingly French-speaking-only transfer policy rather bizarre? I mean, I see the merit in having players who can communicate/possibly share the same philosophy, but aren't we verging on an overly-exclusive search at this point which may result in us overlooking more suitable players? I guess we did buy Vurnon, mind you.
  12. Your midfield is identical to my own. The fifth man I have is Marv so I could afford to pair rvp with suarez. Also have Baines and Luiz at the back. I have Pog too - benched though.
  13. Just a wee club in Germany. He'll be gutted not to succeed the dickhead in charge at the "biggest football club" in the world who haven't actually won the European Cup that many times.
  14. Absolutely not. Probably our best chance of three points this season We need points on the board ASAP Of course, if you fail to win then you have 10 days to brood on it . If we fail to win we can stop thinking about the Championship and start preparation for it quite frankly. I said in my predictions, I have you down for a draw...yet I also have you staying up with (I think it was) 41 points. The Villa match is the biggy - win there and it's a double-whammy. They will think they're already down. Not an unrealistic prediction. I've been following Newcastle for long enough to have baseless superstitions about us - and I know, I know, that our Premier League status will be decided by us - not the teams around us. If our plan is to rely on three teams to be worse than us, it's already over. We're a very polarised team - when we're good, we're very good - vying for Europe and what have you, but when we're bad, boy there's virtually no one worse I really believe that. We need a win IMO. We'll see though

  18. www.sticksports.com/games/stick-football/ ?? Lost 3-2 with England against the All-Stars. Andy Carroll scored twice for me, but Pele grabbed a brace and Maradona got a goal too. Gutted.
  19. As I said last week, fuck up against Reading and that's it for me. Not going to another game or spending another penny following NUFC until he sells up or preferably has a long and excruciating seizure which results in him being rendered severely impaired and soiling his fat, perverted arse for the rest of his days.
