Who do you want now?

Think of the people that will put out of work. Quite poignant in this thread. ~4,000 jobs at risk apparently. Sad for those workers, but not unexpected given the market/digital movement. Surprised they've lasted as long as they have.

Everyone was jizzing yesterday like. AHEM.

As said earlier, not that fussed about him - but would be good to get another body in. He seems one-footed as fuck. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lu341ztUDH1r5qrimo1_400.gif

Recall someone (Sewelly?) saying QPR's spending has been funded by debt.

Any other player we get will know their second choice too

Fair enough really. He's a triffic player and doesn't deserve to be at a club that doesn't match his ambition. By the time his departure is more concrete he'll be a greedy money-grabbing mercenary who plays for himself and isn't committed to the team cause of playing diabolical football too though.

Still not massively excited about this one but hope for the best We need another option up top and I sincerely hope he can be a flat-track bully in the league and provide some easy goals for the side, something we are decidedly short of...

You got my hopes up. We haven't had a true bagel yet. You got one perfect score and that's it! The Wigan game. Don't feel too bad though - the average score this week was about 5.2

Will update the table in a mo. The Chelsea vs Soton game maybe ought to have been caught in the last GW, but there you go. Chelsea V Southampton Liverpool V Norwich Man City V Fulham Newcastle V Reading Swansea V Stoke West Ham V QPR Wigan V Sunderland West Brom V Aston Villa Chelsea V Arsenal Tottenham V Man Utd Southampton V Everton

Sterling out of his depth today IMO

Man Utd work so hard out of possession. As a team, not just individuals making energy-wasting token runs too.

"Got into good positions, but we didn't take our chances and there are no easy games in this league and Reading, like us, are fighting for their lives. You could see that last week at West Brom, and today here, but we was desperately trying to get over the line and nick a goal for the three points, but it wasn't to be."

Get your point, but he wasn't sacked for footballing reasons.

Really don't know where to start with what's wrong here. Can't see anyone who expected Barcelona-like football, or a 4-0 win, for a start. We were also playing Norwich, not Real Madrid. Aye, straw man there. The intention to win a game against a team who are weaker than us is not ridiculous expectation. Not on board with the idea of babysteps either - this isn't pre-season. We're in the middle of the season, and this was a winnable fixture against a side begging us to score goals against them. We barely even tried - apart from trying to hit Cisse from every possible spot on the pitch except from anywhere within a 20 metre radius of the man. Those who were extolling the attacking progress made in the Arsenal and Man Utd games seem to have lost their voices also. Now we're not facing a team who is cocksure they can outscore us, where did all the (fake) progress go? Pardew doesn't know how to coach a team to simultaneously a) be defensively solid b) score without an over-reliance on individual brilliance/defensive mistakes. He could have 11 fully-fit first teams, and he still couldn't do it. I'm sure HBA/Cabaye/Cisse would save his bacon mind you, but I don't want to gamble Newcastle's Premier League status on the hope (and that's all it is - a hope) that we have enough of our "star" players fit and sparking in our shrinking set of fixtures. It could not materialise for all we know. I'd rather have a plan. We've had the playing personne available to use to be in an uninspiring but safe 12th/13th/14th this season IMO.

Well, what can you say to that? Fair result. Expect Pardew to focus on the positives of getting a clean sheet and not quite having enough "verve" going forward to open them up. I think the truth is closer to: Our main focus was to keep that clean sheet, and the rest of our football mirrored our financial/transfer policy - ie. that of trying to squeeze as much reward possible from the most prudent and miserly outlay (ie. Cisse up top alone, moving well enough - albeit with a rapist's touch - marked by four Norwich defenders, with the occasional unconvincing run from Jonas or Marv thrown in the mix, who were quickly outnumbered or only able to put in feeble balls which were easily cut out). Santon and Krul were good though, after some poor games from both. Had hoped beyond hope to see a bit more bravery against an out-of-sorts Norwich, because draws are not good enough. We have Pardew though, and I know what to expect. It was more or less what I expected so I feel more or less the same. QPR drew against Spurs, Reading got three points, Sunderland can start looking forward to midtable mediocrity, and we are deeper in the poo than ever. I say it again: Sack Pardew before it's too late. More important than any signing this summer.
