  1. JackFlash anytime special: Fellaini & Bale Papisto & Ivanovic

  3. I think you are right, in respect of the intention. Don't think we're on to a winner here though. We've scored freely lately by completely abandoning defensive shape - and been punished by pretty sharp-shooting opposition. I think we ought to stick with it though. in an ideal world we'd be able to defend sensibly as a team and attack, but if we concentrate too much on our defensive game I don't think Pardew is good enough to coach the players into attacking efficiently or with enough guile to turns draws into wins. We were quite fortunate we managed to win against QPR after not really threatening their goal, for example. And we need wins not draws, we really do. For the moment, I'd continue going gung-ho personally.
  4. In this case I am, as pointed out Santon is allowed to roam - I would hope Debuchy is also allowed to use his natural instincts. However on this note it would probably be a good idea to ensure both Debuchy and Santon don't bomb on at same time. Maybe Pards will work on that ? If there is a turnover in possession with both Santon and Debuchy up the pitch, our remaining pace at the back makes us very vulnerable to a ball over the top. Luckily, Norwich are one of the teams least-well equipped to exploit such a deficiency as they struggle with pace up top!
  5. Who is the most capped PL player? (Gary Speed still? Or everyone's favourite deja vu post?)
  6. Well, if he's trying to bed Debuchy into the team and trying to instil his footballing values - that might not be too far off the mark, nufc4eva - (not sure if you're being facetious). Our main problem according to Pardew will be our leaky defence. He will get Debuchy to focus on getting the basics right first, I imagine. (ie. nothing fancy, just defending!)
  7. It's a sad day when I feel compelled to stick up for Pardew Maybe he just means he's added defensive solidity. Chances are Debuchy hasn't been involved in an attacking training session yet I think it's supposed to be an encouraging quote that he's defending well/doing his primary job etc ...I've fallen into the trap of taking what Pardew says even remotely seriously though, so shame on me.
  8. Maybe this could be the new set penis. Get Tiote to carry Willo on his shoulders at the back post from set pieces. This would be excellent. Tiote doing a running charge into the box with his oddly effeminate war cry, with Williamson careering through the air aloft his shoulders. And the ball floating harmlessly into the hands of the opposition goalkeeper.
  9. Got in. So Swansea are going to win a trophy? I just did a sick in my mouth. On the other hand, they do very much deserve it and they play good football.
  10. Seems unfair. If you can execute it, fair play to you surely? It's similar to one of your own players ducking out of a wall on a free-kick IMO (in terms of spirit of the game etc). Extreme set penises droughts call for extreme measures.
  11. 1. Are teams allowed to use rugby throw-in tactics on corners (ie. hoisting a team-mate in the air)? 2. Where would NUFC have finished in the French league last year?
  12. Haha, megusta indeed... but our defence is still not a happy marriage I fear! Hopefully he'll notch several Cisse assists per game though.
  13. Didn't realise Chelsea were signing Taison.
  14. I do wonder why there wasn't huge competition for the guy given his relatively low fee and apparent status as France's premier right back. Sagna was injured, otherwise I think he is generally first choice IIRC. He was before he was injured, but he's been back since October and so far Debuchy has stayed first choice.

  16. Norwich have a lot of bottle/spirit about them, as you'd expect from a Hughton side, they don't give up - even at 2-0 down!
  17. We should be alright. Ba usually has a class game against Norwich.
  18. I'd like to see someone in the mould of Arouna Kone/Victor Moses(/Aaron Lennon). A relatively established wing forward who is full of running and can unsettle defences. Doesn't have to be a crackshot striker, but preferably not Gervinho-level decision making either. A flat-track bully would be ideal. Not sure who is out there that we could get.
  19. Seems very much par the norm for players to, at least impliedly, have a pop at your old club when you move to a new club these days. Really sad. Can't you just say "I really enjoyed my time at X" and "I'm looking forward to my future here at Y and hope to continue my development and do the best I can for Y". Such distinct lack of dignity in all corners of the game lately. Players, managers, governing bodies, fans, chairmen Bladdy hell.
  20. "Bigger"* than Chelsea and Man City, certainly. * - whatever, that means ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  21. Good shout. A fair few players who drift in and out of games in that line-up - particularly our front six. In a way, on this rare occasion, I don't think personnel or even tactics will be determinative of what result we get - I think it's about the motivation/belief that the team comes out with. Fairly confident, that barring any monumentally big team selection clangers, that we'll send out a side with more quality than Norwich. Pardew needs to dig deep and inspire the team, making them believe they can win, make them believe they are favourites, make them put Norwich under pressure from the off - not vice versa.
