    La Liga - 10/11

Hopefully Real, sick of Barca/Spain - players(/passengers) like Busquets shouldn't have the medals they currently have while other, better players don't!! That said, it'll be a tough ask dethroning Barca with Real's current squad. Jose could just do it though.
  4. Anyone know how the Rosenborg match is going? Nervy 1-0 or dominant?
  5. Not a patch on the friday night Holland Jupiler League games, can't wait til that starts back! This. So, so this.
  6. Ghana vs Uruguay was class for entertainment though, I must say.
  7. If the basis for comparison is against other World Cups, it's pretty shocking. The worst I've seen in fact. Obviously it's still international football where we would otherwise have a vacuum in our lives which would be filled by work, etc....

Actually played everywhere: ...if Wikipedia is to be believed.
  9. Don't think this is quite as ridiculous as has been suggested. I always wondered about "sacrificial red cards" in cup competitions. Where do you the draw the line? Most of you seem to advocate the flagrant cheating/prevention of a goal through a handball, but what if - for example (and I am perfectly aware how ludicrous this is), a player facing Argentina whipped out a crowbar and maimed six of their players? He'd get sent off and the rest of his team would be left facing 5 men (assuming subs had all been used, previously). Obviously this is extremely far-fetched, but drawing the line isn't as straight-forward, or as easily dismissed, as has been suggested IMO.
  10. Messi is becoming like C.Ronaldo - such a reduced force when he is being greedy/going for goal when there are better options available to him.
  11. Thought Muller was their star player personally with Ozil a close second. Muller's off the ball movement was superb. He carved England open time after time down the right (albeit in the absence of an English left midfielder).
  12. You really do think given the progress of interactive/customisable television you'd get the option to hear the crowd/game without commentary. The take-up of such an option would be overwhelming. Properly ruins good football at times.
  13. Do you think these bastards in the studio have 'safelists'? As in, a list of players who they can't say dived because, even if there's five clear metres either side of them when they go down? It's virtually propaganda. It's 2010. My... mind... boggles.
  14. Commentators talking such an annoying amount of bollocks. Chile deserve to go through. Spain are diving quite a lot now.
  15. Chile have potential with a capital P!
  16. http://www.188promo.com/5j0c0g0r/ Have you done this?
  17. Argy - Brazil final. I'm not sure about Argentina yet tbh. Greece more or less nullified them today, and if they'd had anyone worth a fuck up front they could have done them on the break a couple of times. I can see them getting picked off when they meet a good side tbh. They were 7 men short of their best team... When Di Maria came on and they had some natural width they started to pick through the Greeks much more frequently. I'd imagine much of it was the Greeks knowing they probably had to score to go through though. True enough it wasn't their best 11, but to me they've looked dodgy at the back in all their games thus far. I agree about their defence, but I think they're sort of similar to a team like Barcelona, where their best attacking line-up is usually going to render any defensive problems redundant anyway because they're so good at keeping the ball out of their half. As for the Greeks, I think they would have settled for a 1-0 defeat. They had no intention of trying to score a goal. Also, if I may chime in, anti-football is getting pretty darn effective unfortunately. It's a mark of a top, top side that it can break down such a side at all. Algeria weren't ridiculously defensive, but England never got anywhere - though I suppose England are hardly a brilliant example! Still, look how Italy and France have struggled to unlock defensive sides - showing up their lack of attacking quality IMO. Switzerland too managed to subdue Spain relatively well before their sucker punch. That's not to say Spain are lacking in incisiveness, but their midfield creativity can be easy to stymie at times. Conversely Argentina, Brazil and Holland... while not blitzing teams, have been able to fashion chances and get wins against the anti-footballers and it's hardly sticking my neck out, but I think one of those three will win it.
  18. If only there were websites covering the World Cup, you could find that out easily. One day man... one day. Good old American passive aggressive sarcasm. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=world+cup+2010+group+a
