  1. Prove me wrong if you want? Just can't be arsed to look it all up again.
  2. How often does Milner take up good positions in the box? How often does Milner show variety in his crossing and whip it in behind the back four? Quite often How often does Milner beat his man, get away from him and draw other defenders out of position like N'Zogbia does? Quite often How often does he stretch games? etc. Imo. And the top one, well that just ain't his game - he hugs the touchline. Call me cynical and presumptuous, but you're bound to point that out as a flaw, given that you admire Robert so much (that's the presumptuous bit...). (?) Can you give me some examples of when he's whipped good balls in behind the back four? If you look at N'Zogbia's time on the wing he done it quite alot, Owen scored from a few of them and it's the sort of cross wingers need to put in. Milner on the other hand gets the ball, beats his man, beats him again because he's too slow to run away from him and goes for the high ball into the box, the problem with that is while he's be fannying around out on the touchline the opposition have had time to pack the penalty box out. Bolton. When? Too true supplied the ball for Martins overhead kick. He does it alot, its just unlikely you remeber unless it leads to a goal. He's put in numerous crosses for Viduka too, but he's been pants and gets outmuscled by his marker 99+ % of the time. How was his cross for Martins him whipping it in behind the back four? Btw the cross for Martins goal wasn't even that good, similar to how Geremi's cross for Viduka's goal wasn't either, both goals were scored because of great individual work by our front men to make something out of average crosses, in Martins case a ball that was put in behind him who only very few players in the Premiership could have made something of. crap cross. the way it went to the man and he scored from it terrible, bet big sam knocks that out of him.

Milner puts in more crosses than anyone else in our team FACT! More than most in the Prem if i remember rightly, not 100% but i think it was only Pennant that put in more last season, something like that, can't be arsed to look it up? I suppose you didn't see the Palermo match where his cross was so good even Luque coulden't miss his header from 1 yard out ?? I respect your view and kind of see where your coming from but unless we can sign someone miles better (who?) i'm very happy with Milner as he's a cracking young player.

How often does Milner beat his man, get away from him and draw other defenders out of position like N'Zogbia does? How often does he stretch games? etc. loads basically his game! n'zogbia was woeful last season. never got to the byline and played too central. We've all established why N'Zogbia was poor last season, poor man management from Roeder being the main problem. He has far more potential than Milner does, it's not even close tbh. Its very close imo Milner was our best player last season. Zoggy has probably been our best player this season so far, brilliant start from the Zog. But they are very evenly matched at the moment, two very good players who are improving all the time and are yet to reach their peak. Milners two footedness makes him especially difficult to deal with as he can cross with either foot keeping defenders guessing. Its clear you think he's very average but i dissagree and unless someone exceptional comes along (i can't think realistically of anyone better who w'd actually get i.e. Joe Cole/SWP/ or to a lesser extent Lennon very unlikely) i'd stick with him.
  6. Milner is a good player. Come back to me at the end of the season and tell me you would replace him. Just out of curiosity, who would you replace him with in January?, if you were SA and you had a bit of cash to spend. Come back and tell you at the end of the season? SWP is a realistic target who is not only the better individual but also offers far more to the team than Milner. I agree with you that SWP is a cracking player and would love to have him here as i'm sure Sam would too. Unfortunately he's been Chelski's best player this season up till now and Jose has been singing his praises. So i doubt he's going anywhere soon............. IF (big IF) he did... Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool etc etc could also be very interested so its very very doubtfull to say the least although a very good idea.
  7. More like to many stupids who think that pace isn't important for a winger in the modern game, pointing to only Beckham and Solano as examples even though both were technically superior than Milner will ever be. Pace is important, it's why the likes of Lennon and Young are in the England set up and Milner isn't anywhere near. If we're going to play 4-4-2 then Milner is one of the first players we should be looking to improve on. Beckham and Joe Cole are no good then? Have another read of what I've said about Beckham, as for Joe Cole he isn't a winger anyway but he's alot faster than Milner and yes, he's technically superior than Milner will ever be too, he's an excellent footballer. Joe Cole and Milner are very evenly matched pace wise, about as fast as each other. JC is a winger imo, he doesn't play in the center he plays on the left of a 442 or top left of a 433. Yes JC is definately a better player, one of the best in the world he's peaking at the moment he's 25!! Milner's 21 getting better and better all the time, give the lad a chance by god he's earn't it imo. Who would you have us go out and buy then thats going to be so much better?............... Another Luque type?
  8. Martins currently plays on the right when playing 433, Milner and Duff can play there too as can Geremi. Unless players like Ronaldo/ Joe Cole/ Ronaldinho or some fantastic up and coming want to come and play for us i'm quite happy with what we currently have for the moment. On the pitch Milner was our best player last year and keeps on geting better and he's only 21 or whatever!! He's got a great work ethic/attitude and two very good feet, he beats defenders with skill or sometimes pace (he's not as fast as the SWP's Lennons and Dyers of this world but he's hardly slow) as quick as say Joe Cole and quicker than the Beckhams and Waddle's who were fantastic too in their day.

  10. Well at least we can agree on we both hope he suceeds for now.
  11. the next John Terry? don't make me laugh, at 21 Terry was accomplished in the air, the tackle, had composure, game reading etc Taylor spends 90% of the game chasing the ball or the man he failed to pick up when he should have. He's very, very average and I hope Rozenhal and Cacapa ensure he's nowher near our starting Xl this season We disagree, Taylor is good in the air, is a very good hard tackler etc etc. He's as good as Terry when he was 21. I think you are way way out and he'll prove you very wrong soon. Time will tell and settle this argument, hopefully you'll be big enough to admit you were wrong when the time comes. The lad has great ability, he's already good, he's improving/learning and getting better and beter all the time, he's got a great attitude too.
  12. He's the next John Terry. He's already a very good defender and will surely get better with time/experience/age. He's hugely rated and not without very good reason, on the verge of the England squad and will undoubtably become a regular. Great attitude on the pitch and geniunely loves the Toon! Average?? ..... Yeah right! Pay the lad what he's worth!! As has been said he's turned down the first offer which is fair enough (no need to crucify him ), he should be on the same as Milner and Zoggy and if Faye is on 30k then Taylor certainly deserves to be. We need our heads seeing to if we can't keep hold of him, i am confident that Sam rates him and will do everything to keep him.
  13. Viduka has been the most disapointing player for me so far. He's slow, weak and has been completely dominated by his marker in just about every game. Ok one admittedly good goal against Boro (but other than that absolutely nothing) and one flick on v Wigan. Ameobi would have scored/contributed more!! Viduka isn't mobile enough and it seems he can't outmuscle his marker 99.99 % of the time either. I'd rather Martins Owen Smith or Shola. Best line up imo at this moment: Given Taylor cacapa Roze Zoggy Geremi Smith Butt Milner Owen Martins Or Given Taylor Cacapa Roze Zoggy Smith Butt Geremi Martins Owen Milner No height up top i know, but keeping it on the ground woulden't be such a bad idea. Enrique, Emre, Barton, Beye, Faye and Duff to challenge them once they are fit/ready.
  14. People are making mountains out of molehills tbh. Taylor is fantastic, he's obviously going to be a really big player for us both now and long into the future. He's certainly worth a hell of alot more than 9K thats for definate. He should be on about the same as Milner and zoggy imo. If it's true that Faye is on 30k, then Taylor should be on at least that probably more. I hope they aren't going to mess him about as if he leaves i'll be gutted/fuming. Knowing how Taylor loves NUFC no doubt he wants to stay but they shoulden't use this as a tool against him. I swear there are some undercover mackem WUM's on here. He's the best young CB in the Prem, has had quite alot of experience/caps etc for someone so young, England U21 captain (non surprisingly if you've seen his awesome performances), on the verge of the Full England set up, fantastic attitude/work ethic, already very talented but with bags more of potental, very rarely makes mistakes and geniunely loves NUFC!!!

    Steve Harper

Given has prima donna attributes? Surprises me..........have you got examples of this? Given is no.1 for me but its Harpers turn at the moment, he's in the hotseat and its his place to lose. He's done nothing that warrants being dropped so it'd be pretty unfair on him, as he's been more than patient with Shay in the past.
  16. oh RRRrrrrreeeeaaaalllllyyyy.... ....lots of critisims and no suggestions?? Care to venture a suggestion, rather than piss on other people's??
  17. Richards for me too! Preffer him as a RB (like he plays for England), he could be the best RB in the world in that postion but instead he seems to preffer CB!! Where he is also good...just not quite as brilliant as RB. After a hugely crap season last year, Zoggy's been brilliant for us (our player of the season so far imo) but i don't think LB is his best position.
  18. If needs must then yes of course we can drop him. Great competition now for those three central spots with gerremi, Butt, Faye, Smith, Emre and possibly Zoggy too all competing. Good player though like him alot, some have gone way overboard with a very average performance. But he's a grafter with skill, hard to beat, good passing, good atitude and can shoot too!
  19. Still early days obviously but right now i'd predict man u, Chelski and Liverpool will still be top three come the end of the season. Arsenal i'm not so sure about. Toon, Villa, Everton, Blackburn all look tough teams this year and Spurs and the hammers should recover soon too. Citeh look good at the moment but will be around midtable come the end.

Given's better imo than Reina or Cech.

    Steve Harper

Given is still no.1 for me, but Harps has done nothing wrong and therefore should not lose his place. Its not like Steve Harper woulden't do the same for Shay!! He'd done it for years now and he was certainly good enough to be no. 1 himself. Shay Given is still the better of the two tho for me, especially now.
  22. i think Sam will give them to Geremi. Can't argue with that really. I'd give them to: (depending who's on the pitch) Geremi Emre Oba Shola

    Do We Need Faye?

you're wrong about Taylor. agree, lots of people on here are saying Taylor isnt very good He will eventually brake into englands starting 11 within 2-3 seasons also he is young and doesnt make many mistakes anymore anyone actually watching Taylor play, on and off the ball, can see that he has removed a lot of the problems he caused himself in the past, even as recently as the start of last season. he's a first team starter for me, shoudl have been captain as well, above Geremi, who can't even be given the excuse of being new to the PL for soem of his dismal showings so far. Agree with Kev and Monkey. Taylor's a fantastic player, he doesn't make very many errors atm and will play for england soon. can't understand those that seem to love knocking him (after a reaction maybe/probably?). I think Faye looks good too, i'm glad he's here and i'm glad we have good squad/competition for places. Sam's got it right.
  24. nothing a big pie won't fix. Don't know what your problem is with Viduka, so far you have been proven wrong. I said he was a class player based on what he produced last season, which you laughed at. For us this season he's scored one goal against one of England's finest defenders and it was a goal that had class stamped all over it. These are the facts, plain and simple. You have got to be kidding? Other than score one admittedly good goal he has been very very disapointing. He's been marked out/completely dominated by his markers, he's not created anything or been able to hold the ball up and he'd looked as dangerous as..... pattison. Martins and Owen have to start imo and i'd have Shola in over Viduka Not created anything? He set up our best chance against Villa, a great chance for Martins against Boro, set up Owen twice on Saturday - once when he should have scored and then when his goal was wrongly disallowed. I have never seen a player as dominated as Viduka was against Villa by Lausen, same as with Bolton and Boro, I missed Saturdays game so can't comment on that one. Shola would have created/scored more imo although i'd have Martins and Owen atm
  25. No brainer- one of our best players if not THE best. Certainly up there. Ok he's not the quickest (like Dyer, Pennant Lennon etc), but he's hardly slow either. Beckham and Joe Cole aren't all that quick either but doesn't make them poor players/wingers.
