At the moment its got to be: Given Geremi Taylor Roze Enrique Smith Barton Emre Martins Milner Ameobi Butt and Zoggy are unfortunate to not get in one of those three central spots. Viduka, Duff and Owen are all big disapointments so far, so i'd give Shola a chance atm.

For our next game i'd start with: Ameobi Milner Martins Zoggy Butt Smith Enrique Roze Taylor Geremi Harper Subs: Forster, Cacapa, Emre?, Carroll, Owen I'd rest Viduka as he must need it being so non existant in both our games. Also look to bring on at least Emre (ASAP) for probably Zoggy and Owen at some point in the game , possibly Cacapa late on as well. However i have a sneaking suspicion that Car will play RB again

Yes he had Viduka in his pocket, but to be fair it was Viduka v Laursen AND Mellberg most of the game and the ball was getting hoofed up in his direction out of defence far too much for my liking with most times Viduka being the only NUFC player in your half! Ameobi suprisingly won a few headers, knock ons and drew a few free kicks (from Mellbery mostly) when he came on. Agreed. Viduka was completely dominated by the Villa defence. Ameobi did more in his 10 mins than Viduka did in his 80, very surprised that Viduka didn't get subbed for Owen, as Martins although not brilliant looked far more likely to create something than Viduka. I'd also play Ameobi before Viduka next game.

Well for those midfield three slots we have: SMITH BUTT ZOGGY or BARTON GEREMI EMRE i'd love to try the latter one when they are all fit, but for now i'd try the first one with Geremi playing RB and Enrique LB

I'd play Geremi at RB unless Cacapa is better: Given Geremi Taylor Roze Enrique Barton Butt Smith/Zoggy Martins Milner Owen/Ameobi If we buy another decent/better RB at the moment i'd drop either Butt or Smith and move him back into midfield.

Car and Viduka were crap yesterday. Smith i was disapointed with too. I also question Alladyce's judgement in taking off Martins for Owen when he looked the most likely to create something. Viduka should definately have been the one to come off as he didn't do anything at all. Shola looked much better in the last 10 mins than Viduka did all game. Car was as poor as we all know he is and Zoggy needs to play further forward, i hope Enrique is nearly ready. Harper - 7 not much to do really but didn't do anything wrong. Car - 3 should not be anywhere near the 1st team, Geremi should play there imo Taylor 6.5 - ok i thought. Roze - 7 Good Zoggy - 6.5 ok Smith - 5 disapointing had some good shooting opourtunities and didn't take them. Geremi - 5 disapointing Butt - 7 Good Milner - 7 Good tried hard to create. Viduka - 3 very very disapointing did nothing should have come off earlier, I'd start Shola ahead of him next game. Martins - 6.5 looked the most likely to create something, mystified as why BS decided it was him who needed to make way. Ameobi - 6.5 looked more troublesome than Viduka did just didn't have enough time. Owen - 5 disapointing.

100% agree + i hope we stick to a back 4. No idea what Cacapa is like as RB but if he's pacy as well as good as he sounds, then great play him there if not he'll dislodge Roze before Taylor imo.

Car will get raped by Ashley young and could end up geting sent off. So Geremi or Cacapa needs to play RB, no idea just how good a RB Cacapa can be so played it safe with Geremi RB, Zoggy playing in the central three on the left and Enrique to make his debut.

£8m for Dyer is a good piece of business by us! Hopefully he'll get injured in his first game and bleed West Ham dry too! Losing Nobby is a shame, although not a BS type he'd be useful In the squad/from the bench. After all he's done for us too it right not to stand in his way if he wants to move.

Excellent news imo he was certainly Boltons best defender on Sat some very important well timed tackles.

Agree that Car shoulden't play as Ashley young will destroy him/get him sent off. Carew is a big danger so Taylor will have his hands full as Roze although good on the ground seems to be a little light weight at times. Any kind of Win will do i predict 2-0 with Martins scoring again, unless Car plays then who knows.

I'd go with Johnson up front and Smith just behind linking up the midfield and attack.

I'm convinced that Owen, Martins, Viduka and Shola will score boatloads this season. Obviously as always injuries will dictate who scores the most. I've got a feeling it going to be Martins again.

Agreed. He's had a bad injury he's coming back from. yes he doesn't look any good, i'd be amazed if he ever makes the first team, but the lad is trying i don't think anyone can fault his attitude, which is more than an be said for others in the team. No need to stick the boot in because he's down.

LW all the way for me. Emre, Gerremi, Barton and Butt at are all ahead of him in the CM pecking order. Whilst no one is ahead of him playing LW unless Milner plays there.

I strongly suspect the Independent are full of shit on this one. How can we have a £6m bid for Smith accepted and yet have no money for defenders? I don't believe all the hype. Surely Ashley cannot be stupid enough to know that the transfer window shuts soon.

If true (it looks like it is atm) then it kinda blows a big hole in any of the guys on here saying that BS has no money to spend. Also striker is the department where we are best stocked at the moment, unless he fancies him in CM? This potential signing makes no sense to me when we are so unbelievably desperate for defenders.

Correct! - I've never seen him play but he sounds like a good prospec, so i'd buy him/take a gamble for around £1m. We may still need another LB, CB and RB too though imo! But as things stand at the moment as long as he checks out to be a decent prospect then i'd 100% go for him becaus we are very very desperate especially at LB!! Height obviously isn't the end all or be all! But it is an added bonus imo for us especially as we do seem to have alot of small players. 5'11 i would think is slightly above average for a LB.

No idea if he's any good as haven't seen him play. Sounds promising though, 5'11, pacy plays for senegal and PSG, second best LB in France, so if he checks out sign him as we are desperate.
