  1. And he sends off the wrong man anyway.
  2. Same. Nothing broadcast until half time.
  3. That optimistic, confident feeling was weird and uncomfortable anyway.
  4. Just calling Newcastle shit on the US broadcast for a solid couple of minutes. Feels good.
  5. Do international managers really require that much experience to succeed? Chris Coleman is in a quarter-final. Bilic had no experience taking on the Croatia job. Klinsmann did ok with zero experience. Low's club record is pretty shit. Would any manager at the tournament outside of Conte get a top club job? A collapse of that proportion - and the record of the last decade - cannot come down to just tactics or squad selection. There's something very broken in how the English approach tournaments and their international football in general. Not convinced that there was a formation or gameplan that could have coaxed a good performance out of 11 players that froze like children with stage fright.
  6. Whether they love it or not, they don't fear it. Maybe it's the media, maybe it's a damaged national psyche when it comes to sport, but English performances are joyless, anxious exercises in fear. Nobody enjoys them. The primary task of the next manager is to change this. I'm not sure if it's possible but you need a big ego to try and change something. Less to do with team selection or 4-3-3 v 4-1-4-1 etc. in my view. Other nations go to tournaments and enjoy them. The English fret about 50 years of hurt and the almost-glory of the more interesting or strange failures in years past. Or how amazing Pirlo/Ronaldo/Figo and how will they ever be stopped? McManaman and Darke in TV here were speculating about the humiliation and shame of this defeat before a ball was kicked. I don't think other nations build up to a football match like this. I think some enjoy it.
  7. I can't picture what Southgate would look like winning something. He's failure personified. If it's Pardew then I'm done.
  8. theres enough talent in that team that it should be playing a lot better than they did through the tournament s*** team. Zero bottle. down to the manager, the talents there but he failed miserably to get the best out of it There are maybe two decent managers in this tournament. English players are just bottlers. Consumed by fear.
  9. Comfortably the worst England performance I've ever seen.
  10. Hope England turn it around, take off Sturridge, get Vardy on etc....but this is objectively pretty funny. Have to feel good for Iceland.
  11. Pointless step over after step over. Guys a bell. What is the point of him in this role?
  12. And the final is ruined by an attention seeking referee.
  13. Pitch is going to be a mess if this does resume.
  14. Any goal at all in either game can still avoid Eng/Por correct? Even Austria?
  15. Spain have an absolute joke of a draw now, provided they win their group.
  16. Looking at the group now it doesn't seem like Portugal finishing 2nd is the most likely result really.
  17. If they get as far as France in the QF, fair enough. That might actually be a fun open game to watch. Would prefer that to Germany or Spain. I would actually like to see England go up against a decent side at some point in this tournament.
  18. This is the absolute worst part of it. When is the fixture now? Monday night. Bah. Worst part of it. Someone is going to start noticing these 2 hour lunches.
