  1. Or you get the types who inexplicably decided to start supporting Spurs in 2012 and consider themselves long-suffering.
  2. Switch TV on after 10 min, burst out laughing, switch TV off. No thanks.
  3. Dummett on. Defending like Lions for this point. I'll be honoured if we secure it.
  4. There was absolutely no way this wasn't going to end like this. The only surprising thing about this is that there is no Shola to score a winner.
  5. Glad this is midweek. Easy to ignore and no chance another weekend gets Pardew'd.
  6. He's fast with zero end product. This was why Man U sold him and it's been clear for years. Bottling a clear chance after a decent run is his thing. He shouldn't have been on the pitch, and certainly not at the expense of a much better, in form player. Manager's fault for picking him.
  7. Not that Stoke deserve anything either, but 3 points for that rubbish would have been a joke.
  8. So the club are basically a feeder club for a Scottish second division side now then?
  9. This Hull game is massive. Most of the real remaining opportunities for points look like coming when the fear and panic have set in later on in May, after the tail spin has started.
  10. Same thing that happened last time. It can't happen, it won't happen, there are worse teams than us, just need a point here, Hull have a tougher run in....and then we're down. You should have a pretty active pessimistic imagination when it comes to creative, initially implausible ways that this club can fail. The squad is better than at least 3 teams below us. That's totally irrelevant. The "head coach" is more than capable of squandering an 8 point advantage in two months.

    John Carver

Now let's not be utterly ridiculous. No way. Not sure if it makes much difference to be honest. The exciting part about Pardew getting the sack was the prospect of enjoying football again. Carver just means more of the same. Depressing as fuck.
  12. I'd love a well run club, but I think I'd settle for a bit of professionalism at this point. Average professionalism. Set a timeline, draw up a shortlist, and appoint someone more or less qualified. Like a normal club. Doesn't have to be a Frank De Boer. Just find some with a decent track record and a bit of career ambition in a reasonable space of time. During that search, communicate to the fans directly, and not through the whispers and Tweets of some thick trainee reporter from a local paper. My bar is that low. Why does everything - manager, transfers, shirt sponsor, results - have to be an embarrassing, amateurish shambles?
  13. I think Charnley comes off ok in that interview, but there is no reason to believe any of it. On the brighter side, it sounds like the obstacle is signing a target whose preference is a move during the summer. That's at least reassuring that the higher quality targets being mentioned in the press (Garde, Tuchel) are accurate and we might not end up with Curbishley on a 7 year deal. But Carver is going to fail. That is not in doubt. So when, not if, the club get sucked down into a relegation battle this season, then what? And the lack of contingency planning about Pardew is baffling. When your manager is practically in tears and can't leave the dugout during his last home fixture of the season, maybe some discrete succession planning might be an idea if you are the MD of a football club. It was clear his position wasn't secure. "We didn't see it coming" isn't an excuse. Clown.
  14. I know nothing about him, but this sounds very troubling. And familiar.
  15. Would love to hear the piss and moan from Jose if we'd scored on a quick corner like that at SJP.
  16. Sissoko (£1.8 mil) Ayoze Perez (£1.5 mil) (£3.4 mil)
  17. I think that puts to rest the idea of a full time appointment in the summer. Burnley fluking a point would have been one thing, but they were on top the entire second half and with no fresh legs to bring on. If that can happen, there's no limit on how far you can drop.
  18. Ayoze is easily the best thing about this team at the moment.
  19. I've been ignoring this, but now I'm starting to believe. I'll love Palace forever if they actually pay money to take him.
