    Fraser Forster

I suppose at the end of the day, the club has always towed the line that if a player doesn't want to be here, then they are free to leave, and the quicker the better. In how publicly Forster has come out he wants to stay at Celtic, combined with Pardew absolutely slating the quality of the football in that league, only buries this further. In that regard I very much doubt he'll ever play for us again.
  6. Don't hold your breath for that. Why not? like it or not eventually the 35m was invested back into the squad. With regard to the don't-hold-your-breath thing, perhaps the key word is "eventually". Tbh iam happy with that it meant we spent the money wisely and took our time to get the right targets, i never expected it to be spent over one transfer window.... All in all iam happy with Ashley, except for the PR disasters and stadium name change and sports direct plastered all the over place like a cheap supermarket. Also hawk you expect every single penny that the club recieves to be spent on players? Only the unspent excess turnover and not put towards the self-incurred debt of Mike Ashley. Not much to ask. Most of the debt he's paying off now is to do with the stadium mortgage which was payable upon purchase of the club. He's done a great job with the finances, don't get me wrong, but he's definitely not putting everything he could into the club that it's generating, far from it. Whether it be players or investment in commercialization of our brand.

    Fraser Forster

It's very hard to guage his value because of his desire to remain at Celtic combined with never having played for us in the PL. One would have thought a PL club would have come in for him by now if he was truely as good as thought, if not, then it'd be wise to take the money.

    Papiss Cissé

what? Well, according to Golfmag, one of the reasons why Hughton was sacked was because he apparently was getting too close to his players. So... Was because he became to the first PL manager in history to fail to get the squad to sign off on the bonus sheet. This is the culmination of all the other factors in the squad and his management style.

  16. How people aren't picking one of the most gifted footballers of the past 25 years in CM is beyond me.
  17. People need to read up on the 'can we make the CL' thread
  18. So that would still be in West Ham's hands then?
  19. Has anyone who's seen Bayern much this season able to let me know if a front three of Robben, Ribery and Mario Gomez with Schweinsteiger spraying it about is as good in real life as it is salivating on paper?
  20. Hans how can you not get the fact that it simply isn't in our hands right now? If we win all our games and so do Tottenham, then we finish on the same points. If they score more goals than us for each win, or even if we don't score enough to catch up their goal difference, then they will get 4th. This shows that factors external to our control (that Tottenham can maintain a superior goal difference and win all their games) would prevent us from getting 4th, and thus it isn't in our hands.. In our hands would be if we were 1 point ahead of them, or the goal difference so weighted in our favor that it would be simply improbable that another team could make up the difference, and only with a mathematical chance. Right now, it's in no-one's hands, but if Tottenham were to win all their remaining games by a 1-goal margin, they would have +24 goal difference. We would then have to win all our games, making up a 16 goal deficit in goal difference, 16/5 = 3.2 clear goals per game on average for all our remaining games, including Man City of course. Can you see how this really isn't in our hands, not in Tottenham's, but in the realms of reality it's Tottenham's spot to lose?
