  1. God damn Joe, read the game I saw that pass coming two moves back
  2. Dortmund playing with a high line suits us well right now, hope we can capitalize.
  3. Can't underestimate the effect of the rain tonight, I've never seen so many overhit passes in one half from us, from multiple players too - Bruno, Trips, Almiron are ones that stand out.
  4. There's more than a splash of the usual match-thread hyperbole and sensationalism tonight tbh.
  5. We've been more than decent this match, we're giving Dortmund a game and despite the table, they are a very good side. Undefeated this year in the Bundesliga. Trusting Eddie to work his magic at half time and to see Murphy on soon and Willock on when he's able, Joelinton looks out of his depth this game, he's really not been on form since his return from injury.
  6. Needs to get his elbows out and shield the ball a bit better perhaps
  7. Can see Willock for Joelinton and Murphy for Almiron in the second half at some point
  8. I suppose if your surname is wolf, you're sort of obliged to model yourself as an extra from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
  9. We're settling in a bit now, retaining a bit of possession. The more Trippier and Schar get on the ball, the more comfortable we are.
  10. Bruno/Almiron reviving that play from October 2022, nearly came off
  11. It's either a yellow for a dive or it's a penalty. Neither is corruption
  12. Need to get Trippier on the ball more, dictating play.
  13. Isak's gone down tactically imo, physio has told him to lay down as well
  14. https://fbref.com/en/players/de112b84/Jacob-Murphy His rolling 365-day percentiles per 90 mins are outrageous
  15. Doesn't make Garth Crooks' team of the week, though

    Fabian Schär

Tbh I'm firmly against him in midfield. One of the main reasons his long range passing and penetrating runs are so good is because he is in defence. He has time on the ball, he can see the whole pitch and what's going on and can quarterback it from there. The runs work because whilst effective, they are infrequent and unexpected, and we have very smart players in Bruno and Longstaff who know to drop in to cover. In the middle he's going to get crowded out and receive the ball back-to-goal - it's a completely different skillset.
