  1. Wrong thread for discussion on capitalism. It’s relevant. If you are supporting football you’re already compromised. Some years ago Terry Eagleton called football the new opium, the crack cocaine of masses. The whole thing stinks.
  2. Bye. Start fresh right from the get go. None of this crap about giving him a half season. New regime. New plan. Give the new manager the money to build the team.
  3. Amazing how all this fit and proper, whitewashing, sportswashing, irreprehensible acts come to light when little old Newcastle get a chance to play with the big boys again. I'm not condoning anything but the hypocrisy is palpable. Man City have had plenty criticism.look on Bluemoon they can’t stand the media. Yeah ok I'll bookmark that site when I have time.
  4. John Terry, Steve Bruce... that mother ucker really does hate us.
  5. The catchment argument might hold more water (heh!) if they could point to other examples. There are so many other factors involved: history, current success, past success, quality and accessibility of the stadia, class identification, etc. I live here in the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Francisco-based clubs (baseball, American football) have always had larger fan bases than those based in Oakland. There have been periods were the Oakland teams were much more successful, but the San Francisco teams were always more popular. Oakland has a larger "catchment area": it doesn't mean shit.
  6. He was rubbish but that's a great goal Basically this. Thought he tried. Not everything’s gonna come off but he never hid and was always looking to start something. It's not the under 11s. Apart from that strike he was shocking, if we are to persist with wing backs we need upgrades on both sides. Yep.
  7. If I had any faith in the club and believed Rafa would be backed appropiately, I’d argue Ritchie has got to be the next to be replaced. We can’t progress with him taking penalties.and corners. He’s too slow. Not a proper defnder or genuine threat. Midtable Premier League player at best. I love him and all. He’s agreat asset for any Championship side.
  8. Wouldn’t want to play Leicester today.
  9. I'd take Bramble and O'Brien over Williamson and Taylor. Just sayin. Also, the Bramble period wasn't very long. The Colo/Williamson/Taylor seemed like a decade.
  10. that was a dark time A very long very dark time. Incredible to think about.
  11. Rafa’s got it right. Three at the back. Lascelles, Lejeuene, Schar.
  12. Stifleaay, Can you check with Amanda? Ask her if Tony Green is legit.
  13. Nice article. https://www.football365.com/news/top-ten-premier-league-players-outside-the-big-five-anthony-martial 1) Identifies Fernandez as one of the best players outside the Big Five. 2) Coins the term "Big Five". Picks Anthony Martial as well-- rubs some salt in the wound.

    Fabian Schär

How frequently has Benitez played three at the back? There was the Chelsea game and the Lascelles bust up. Can’t remember many others.
