  1. Winner: France Runner Up: Belgium Golden Boot Winner: Lukaku Player of the Tournament: Mbappe Young Player of the Tournament: Foden How far will England get: Round of 16. Loss to Germany on penalties at Wembley Surprise Team of the Tournament: Denmark First manager to be sacked post tournament: Luis Enrique
  2. They're shaving expenses, sure. The main point is to entice fans to buy a lot of new crap that displays the new crest.
  3. And these 70 slurs are coming primarily from fans of his club? I assume it's mostly disgruntled Man United supporters. Or do black players routinely receive abuse after high profile matches?, finals and the like.
  4. That's what I was thinking. They' ve reduced it down to three colours: black, white, and blue. The original circle badge had five (+ yellow and green). Current crest has five (+ gold and red). I quite like the new/old design, but I would prefer not to change at all.
  5. Well then, that's the best of all worlds. An early Milan goal, a lackluster Atalanta performance, and months of accusations in the press about how everyone is conspiring against Juve. Delicious tears.
  6. How do the tie breakers work in Italy? Goal differential or head-to-head? If AC Milan beat Atalanta, you could see both Juve and Atalanta on 78 points. I think Atalanta wn either way.
  7. Surely, Kinnear was the worst. But I think I hate Pardew and Bruce the most. Edit, my god I forgot Carver. To think I had managed to block that out.
  8. Eight years? You mean 9+. Under that clown the US finished 5th in concacaf and missed out on the World Cup for the first time since 86. Finished behind Panama and Honduras.
  9. Maybe. But do the fans want it? I guess BlufPurdi is saying that Celtic and Rangers fans do. How enthusiastic will the travelling fans be about making their way down from Glasgow to Norwich? Or vice versa?
  10. I was just thinking about this. Wishful thinking, but how about 2 year bans for the unrepetants and no ban for everyone else. That'll really hit Real Madrid hard and create disunity between the 12. The CL broadcasts won't take that big of a hit. Real Madrid and Barcelona will see that just as many people are willing to watch the CL without them as with them. By not punishing the English clubs, they can make the CL expulsions that much more painful. (I'd certainly like to see the PL to punish the English clubs as well. Heavy point reductions next season could really pile on the pressure)
  11. Not necessarily. Maybe the clubs don't want to enter the English league structure. Or the fans of those clubs don'5t want it.
  12. Well maybe you should've "elected Mao Zedong instead of Boris Johnson".
  13. Probably not, but good read. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Can't see the Super League fiasco being good for our takeover. Looking from the outside as a fan of any of the other 14 or any club in the lower leagues, I would see our takeover as more of the same, a sign that the the PL had not learned its lesson, and that it would be the "big seven" that would soon break away. I'd be 100% against it. I think that fans all around England will revolt if this is approved any time soon. On the other hand, if the Saudis are just looking at this as a PR exercise--if their primary goal is sports washing, they could really screw over the Greedy Six. Endorse and push for reform, salary caps, revenue sharing, fan control/partial-ownership, etc. They would win a lot of support from the people of England and genuinely fuck over the Glazers, FSG, etc. (I know, that's a bunch of BS, but what else do I have to fantasize about at this point?)
  15. Everybody hates Amdy Faye. I hate Amdy Faye. But I vaguely remember him making a fantastic pass through to Dyer? against Olympiakos, I think. Probably misrembering.
  16. Where's that old Sam Allardyce magic?
  17. ... and a points deduction. The lack of incoming transfers and prima donnas leaving for CL football (and the chance to work with David Moyes!) will put some of them into serious relegation fights. A six pointer between Arsenal and Tottenham on the last day of the season. I'd pay serious money to watch that.
  18. I'd read that FIFA had some sort of rule against this sort of thing, but then there are so many exceptions to this supposed rule (Monaco in League1, Welsh clubs in the Premier League, the joint US-Canada MLS), I wonder if I had just imagined it or, more likely, FIFA routinely bends the rule for a fee.
  19. They used to have some sort of Scandinavian Super League about 20 years back with the best teams from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Don't know what happened there.
  20. 20 point penalty would put Arsenal in the relegation zone. Liverpool and Spurs on the brink. Ahead of Burnley on goal difference.
  21. The Scottish football pyramid could slide in alongside the National League North and South. Add a National League Scotland. Celtic and Rangers could earn their way in from there. Apologies, but would they add that many new viewers to instantly earn a cut of the Premier League broadcast revenue?
  22. Fine, maybe it benefits the Premier League and the business end of Celtic and Rangers. But is that what their fans want? And if they do want it, by what right ahould they be admitted at the top tier of English football?
  23. Not much of a joke. Who wants this? Celtic and Rangers fans? Scottish fans? English fans? American investors? Who?
