    The Mackems Game

Been the case for a lot of our games this seasons really

    Peter Beardsley

Ditto. Same, wish i'd been older when he played for us so i could've appreciated it more.
  3. Newcastle have rejected a £5m bid from Manchester City for keeper Shay Given. (Shields Gazette 1246 GMT) - BBC Gossip site
  4. At least we don't have a game this weekend
  5. Prefer Spurs to come down with us than Stoke/WBA as i said above they'll lose the vast majority of their squad and will have to start again and it'd mean we weren't the only "big fish" all the teams were gunning for in the Championship. Stoke and WBA would pretty much keep their current teams and would be likely to bounce straight back up. I'd also love to see what smug Harry would have to say about managing a team relegated from the Premiership again - obviously it wouldn't be his fault for he is 'the best manager in the league'
  6. Maybe because he actually plays for Hull? He's on loan from Wigan. 99% sure of it.

    The Mackems Game

Can't see them not scoring tbh which is worrying. Colloccini/Taylor won't be able to cope with Jones/Cisse.
  8. Don't understand why Wigan don't keep King, perfect backup for Heskey/Zaki IMO. On another note, it'll be fucking interesting to see what happens if Spurs do end up going down as i can't think of a single player bar O'Hara who'd want to stop there. Can't see them going down like but it was just a thought.
  9. Just what we didn't need. Potentially going to have two players (Geremi & Zog) in CM neither of whom want to play for us.
  10. Been very surprised he hasn't got a look in at Bolton. Did much better than I thought he would for Nigeria at the last African Nations Cup, which was the first time I had really had a look at him. Would fit in as a more physically dominant defender. He is huge but surprisingly mobile as well. He's shite. Similar to Bramble IMO but slower and a hell of a lot worse on the ball.
  11. i've a mate at work who's son decided to support huddersfield from a young age (about 7) and they now travel there for most home games and aways in the north. i've adopted the terriers as a team who i don't support but i always keep an eye out for their results. Good luck to Clarkie really. Took over a winning team though so it'll be interesting to see how he copes when he suffers a couple of losses on the bounce.
  12. Def a Feb 2nd for me, we might buy some players (although i fear we won't) and I'm very interested to hear what he has to say about the current debacle although why he has to wait to until then to address the fans i don't know (giving himself time to come up with excuses perhaps?)
  13. He'll be hungover...its his birthday on Monday i think it said in the media.
  14. From what i've seen of him I'd tend to agree. Materazzi will be a good short-term signing though
  15. Happens all the time according to all managers.
  16. Should've used the first team football excuse not the international excuse.
  17. I'd ask for Garrido who would add some real fight for Enrique over the LB spot. Onuoha, a long term replacement for Beye, full of pace & Sturridge, who for some reason i get the feeling will be an England player in the next few years. Prefer Ball to Garrido although both are poor.
  18. Richardson, Malbranque, Cisse and Jones are all good players - hopefully they'll still have most of their defence out. Could be an open end to end game.
  19. Probably the least I've ever looked forward to a derby. Can't see them not scoring and fuck knows if we'll bother turning up or not.
  20. Prefer us to get ex Man United star Karl Power in... http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2001/12/10/poweras.jpg
  21. Precisely the same boat as me. Even though i've pretty much lived away from the NE for the last 4yrs I've kept my ST, and goto about 60-70% of the home games despite 3yrs of living in Bournemouth for most of the year but despite this ive always looked forward to going to the match and have kept my ticket because if we get to a final i want to be able to say i was there to see it however now the only final we'll be lucky to get to is the playoff final next yr. This coupled with the general lack of direction/care/management/passion at the club is turning me away from wanting to go and support the club i will love for life.
