on a technicality: Mexico as they compete in the Copa America but aren't of that persuasion

Very true, as he alludes to in his article.

I wanted to say that one just cos it sticks out; sensational counter-attacking football. We absolutely destroyed them... but i never actually saw it, just the highlights. It just sticks out for that period though. I really can't think of any one that stands out in-particular for me, as i didn't see too many from the Bobby era. There was some decent performances prior to that, that i can just about remember: 4-1 against Everton in the cup where Kets got a brace, 2-0 vs Spurs at Old Trafford - again in the cup. 1-0 vs Juventus and 2-2 vs Inter in the Champions League were pretty damn good performances under Bobby (notice how i'm only saying terrestrial TV games). More recently, 4-1 against Alkmaar, 3-0 against Reading. I haven't seen too many outstanding performances from start to finish unfortunately. It was 4-2 against Alkmaar unfortunately. Bloody Taylor!

We're actually going to be signing Madeleine McCann, the deal was sealed a year or so ago but we couldn't announce it to anyone as we couldn't get her a work permit.
-
Well informed but misses the point of if we get rid of Barton we've pissed £5m+ down the drain and some other team will happily sign him up and we'll be a player/money down whereas someone else will have a decent player for free.

Zenit don't need the money in the slightest though.

Couple of articles from the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/aug/01/newcastleunited.premierleague http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/07/31/forget_the_liberal_values_when.html

Nah in off the underside bar bouncing down into the goal and back up into the roof of the net is the best kind of goal you can score. Tony Yeboah v Liverpool being a classic example.
-
Brilliant game, was just thinking bout that before when i was posting. I think Darren Anderton scored a screamer that night n all. I definitely remember one of their goals getting applause from our fans.

Leicester 7-1 I think I'm going to have to say of the games I've been fortunate enough to attend. We also stuffed Barnsley 6-0 a few weeks earlier which was a very good performance.

Did John Hartson get done for booted Eyal Berkovic in the face? If not, nothing should come of this (in theory). Blatant PR move from the FA btw.

Ben Alnwick still knocking about at Spurs?
-
Fuck me, this Spurs are stealing our players crap is boring. I'm not usually one to have a go bu change the fucking record.
-
What went on there then?
-
I thought Arsenal had already bought him a while back.
-
Decent acquisition although don't know whether he'll be a starter as Richards, Corluka, Dunne as all decent and he is poor at LB.

Man United but with Chelsea pushing them all the way. Then I would imagine a gap with then Liverpool 3rd, Arsenal 4th. Depends on injuries and what not though. Arsenal need to replace Flamini and Gilberto and refrain from playing Eboue & Senderos to be in with a chance of winning the league and Liverpool need to get knocked out all of the cups at the first hurdle to be in with a chance.

Suprised their new away kit isn't orange. Pretty exciting team they're building there: Diarra Sneijder Robinho - V.D.Vaart - Robben V.Nistelrooy not too mention: Raul, Saviola, Baptista, De La Red ect.

I am, looked ok against Doncaster but it's difficult to tell but I trust KK's judgement. Yup, at the end of the day Keegan has worked with him for a week and seen him in a full game, so I am very comfortable with the decision. Also seems to be a very athletic and versatile defender, which is very useful. We do lack a younger defender who is strong and athletic at the club, so it's a solid move. definitely, reminded me of a younger version of Distin v Donny

He better get number 46!

Sounds promising, if indeed he is any good. His rep suggests so but i have not seen anything like enough of him play live/TV to comment further. Wheres Guillem Balague when you need him?
