This. Last summer was an understandable mess but now with added context of this summer looks ever worse. I get it wasn’t priority but clearly the club/manager did and here we are. Its all based on nowt like and I’ve tried to remain relatively calm and level headed about our business so far but it’s not getting any easier.

From the outside it seemed an easily done transfer that the player was keen on and then we fucked about with for ages despite the manager clearly being keen and it being a long term investment with a (compared to forwards) relatively low fee. Waited around and he went elsewhere. Maybe the clause was always going to be activated by City? Who knows but I think it was there to be done. You never know the whole ins and outs of it but for me it’s been the one that we were in position to do but didn’t for reasons unknown. And I say this as someone who is happy enough with Pope. Either way it changed my opinion of us not getting things done. Most of the others were good luck but aye it was never going to happen. More annoying thing is it’s all played out in public.

I’ll refer to my previous comments about Darwizzy but on that list of who has spent you absolutely can’t lump all the clubs together as one. Yes they earn more due to historical reasons but their ability to spend now is completely different at each.
