  1. Looks like we are going for it. God bless Kevin Keegan.
  2. Good post, sums up my thoughts and I didn't know that about Bassong's age.
  3. mackems.gif Have just seen this, ahaha this is really, really funny!
  4. Given Beye Colocinni(Hopefully) Taylor Enqique Barton Milner Jonas Owen Martins Viduka
  5. Cacapa has looked good pre-season. Who is to say he will not be just as good as Faye? The guy played for Lyon who are a top class attacking team and might have taken a little while to get used to the different pace of football but if KK has confidence in him then so do I.
  6. Who's overreacting like? The player is simply rated more highly than those who will remain here. Exactly, he isnt the greatest player ever but the simple fact is he is the best of what we have (pre Coloccini) so selling him for peanuts isn't viewed by some as a good idea. Aye you two are sensible but there are people saying things like they are totally gutted and Keegan is clueless, we are out of control etc. Faye is good but not much better than Taylor imo and who is to say a replacement is not lined up anyway. This would still leave us with Taylor, Colo, Cacapa, Bassong and Edgar which is not too shabby as long as Collocini turns out ok. I think if we are selling him there is good reason for it. Edgar will never make it at this level I'm pretty sure most people would be happy with a player of his potential ability at fifth choice CB.

  8. Some mad overreactions to this. People really seem ready to jump on the made up shitstorm bandwagon at any opportunity.
  9. At last someone talking sense. He really isn't that good anyway. Agreed.

    Tiago on loan?

Would be an excellent addition if true. The days of Alan Smith in midfield would be well and truly over. Sign another good striker and our squad is looking very healthy.
  11. Anton Ferdinand - 10m Younes Kaboul - 6m Carlos Cuellar - 7.8m Those were two others we were linked with this summer. I know which one looks the best. that's right. Cuellar pisses all over the other 2 from a great height Does he? We know Kaboul hasn't done too well, and we know Ferdinand is an average prem defender, but i cannot remember the last time Cuellar played in the Premiership. He's played in a weak league all season looking great, and in the UEFA playing in the most boring mind numbing defensive team on planet, although he looked good, its hard to tell from that alone. A decent defender is going to shine in an ultra defensive formation no doubt about it. Its a big fee, a big gamble, he could easily be another Boumsong, or an Amoruso, or a Barry Ferguson. I don't think he will be, but i don't reckon he'll piss all over Ferdinand or be as fantastic as everyone reckons. Still would have liked him here, but would say personally, £5m is a gamble. So many people just don't even mention the fact he is a proven La Liga defender. Or are you saying the Premiership is that far ahead of La Liga? No more of a gamble than Coloccini or Vidic for that matter. He was as average as Ferdinand in LaLiga. Hardly anyone had heard of him when he moved to Rangers, i didn't hear ymany people on here complaining we missed out on this proven quality. How you work out that comparison with Ferdinand I don't know. He was linked with the top clubs in Spain and also premiership teams before his move to Rangers and I had certainly noticed him in that Osasuna side that were doing really well.
  12. And the last centre half Rangers sold to the Premiership for big money was a French International, and proven in the French top flight. Remember him?

  14. Players aren't usually rated by their former fee. I was thinking more if Osasuna are willing to let him go so cheap how all of a sudden is he sogood? Use your head man, there could be a number of reasons for this. It has been discussed before on here, he was at the end of his contract and wanted to go.

  16. I think one big money CB is enough for this season. Coloccini comes very highly rated too so hopefully that will shore up our defence enough.
  17. Cuellar to Villa, O'Neil has invoked his minimum fee according to ssn. Bastards, he will be a great signing.
  18. There's a tornado on the way? That'll take more than the f***ing socks! We're re-signing Stephen Carr? speaking of him, has he been signed by anyone yet? The dole according to my ITK.
