Aye, I don't understand when people say that Smith and co get more when they're shit. We know they're shit and overpaid, that doesn't mean people should get a pay rise off the back of that. I can kind of understand why a player would be pissed off that shite like that get paid more (probably double) than they do and add half as much (if that) to the team but yeah Milner knew this when signing his last contract (fairly recently). That's true but the point .com makes is that he has seen Taylor get a much better contract than him who is pretty much equal in terms of his value to the club as a whole. I can see why he would think he is entitled to a similar contract to Taylor. Slapping in a transfer request is not the way I would of hoped he would go about it though and the whole thing with the club going public about it makes me think that there is a replacement lined up.

What has he done to warrant an improvement of the one he was happy to sign 12 months ago? Become a regular starter.

After reading nufc.com it seems more like he is looking for an improved contract which is fair enough. Why he should be on so little compared to Duff, Smith etc? The guy has always given 100% and if his contract is that much lower then he should be given a new one.

Should go all out for a good attacking mid.

Bit disappointed he's wanting to go but it's his loss really. Not sure who we can get in such a short space of time though.

Would like to see Barton/Guthrie Jonas/Guthrie N'Zogbia/Jonas Owen Martins Viduka Any of that combination in midfield gives you pace, some power and you get the fantastic movement that came about from that front three last season. Ideally would need a replacement for Viduka since he's so injury prone. It's a good formation as long as your fullbacks are great. We have one in Beye and Enrique has potential but is a long way off yet.

I'm not so sure about a Martins, Owen partnership but when they played with Viduka they were an excellent attacking unit. Viduka is a handful for any defender and then you had Owen dropping deep causing confusion over marking and to top it all off you had Oba cutting in from wherever he would pop up next. Would like to see some more of that this season. Maybe Owen and Martins could play together but it will need a bit of thought in how they play off each other. If you had Jonas up supporting them then it might work better.

West Ham are pretty awful in general. You look at the team and they've got crap like Davenport and Carlton Cole playing plus an assortment of rejects, mercenaries & kids. I think it's pretty ridiculous that Curbishley is under pressure and that their fans think they should be challenging for Europe. They've got mid-table mediocrity written all over them. Will be the first to go imo. He has not spent wisely at all and as you say they are shite.

Just watching his interview after the game. Seem's like a different person from the start of last season. Well up for it and you can tell he has the hunger back. I really slated him but the end of last season he was bang in form and hopefully it will continue this season.
