Only seen him play a few times, looks like a good player but 18 million would be a bit of a gamble. Quality doesn't come cheap though especially where the premiership is involved.

I think some of our players are quite technically astute, maybe not so tactically but it is hard to tell when they are playing in a long ball 4-5-1 formation or whatever it seems to morph into.

Stick with him, no point sacking right now as no-one is going to come in January and transform this season. He has from now until the end of the season to show improvements on the playing side and if there are none then Mort and Ashley will have to decide.

What i can't understand so far is why he has not given the 4-4-2 a fair go. The current squad suggested very quickly that they were not suited to the 4-3-3 he is trying to play so why not change it? I strongly suspect we would of picked up more points by now if we playing a settled 4-4-2 and then by the time May comes he could get hopefully get in a few players to allow him to go back to the 4-3-3 if he wants to.

I think Sam deserves at least a season but you have to question what he has done so far this season in terms of the use of the squad. I don't doubt what he is doing behind the scenes but he seems either stubborn or stupid when dealing with tactics and the use of players.
