  1. Can't believe they haven't done that from the start, should have been a given.

    Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, eat drink and drink some more.
  3. He's not good backup because he's injured too much.
  4. Olly Bernard has bought Durham City!? Fair play to him.
  5. Mike Ashley must be delighted there is someone around now who is possibly more of a prick than he is.
  6. Yep it's not worth the time, who cares.
  7. It's certainly not better than what Pardew has now and whether that team should have won the championship or not, it did, he did and we did it in style towards the end. The team that was relegated also should have stayed up, but it didn't. It's not as simple as saying something should happen regardless of what does or doesn't happen. It's not like it's one game and you can say that the result proves a point definitively. He proved it game after game, week after week and not only restored a lot of faith in our team, but he also got a lot of us just enjoying football and enjoying winning again. The season that we came up, we were a mid-table team that would win some and lose some, but there was at least some batterings that we handed out along the way and a lot of enjoyment to get from our football. He goes down as a very important person in our history for me and regardless of what you think his worth as anything is, his actual, tangeable contribution both on the field and off it was tremendously important to me. Me too. Seems easily forgotten what a shambles the whole club was in when we went down too, to downplay his achievement always sticks in my throat, he did a fucking excellent job.
  8. This post could quite easily be from any of the past 4/5 years. Should be grateful though, Leeds, Portsmouth etc.
  9. That's not what I said, the side Pardew has had for last couple of years is much stronger than Norwich or the side Hughton had in the prem.
  10. Hardly Hughton's fault that Pardew's record in the Championship and League One with several teams is fairly dire. I think it's fairly clear that the team that Hughton had in the Championship was streets ahead of anything that Pardew managed. Probably more relevant to compare their Premiership managerial records. Also, certainly in recent years the team Pardew has had in the premiership is streets ahead of what Hughton has managed.
  11. Did they not have another very good chance where the guy fluffed it in the second half or was he offside?
  12. Yeah it's going to be a right chortle-fest like.
  13. They lost by far their best player and replaced him with loads of potentially excellent foreigners but haven't allowed time for them to settle or gel. It's like these people have just forgotten how football works and expect miracles.
  14. Another mental and completely stupid decision if you ask me.
  15. Agree with that, I was thinking that Pardew had finally been making a bit of progress with that this season but it's hard to say really. it's not hard to say at all. Of course we've made progress. What would you define as our main style of play?
  16. Agree with that, I was thinking that Pardew had finally been making a bit of progress with that this season but it's hard to say really.
  17. Exactly! Love it how that fact just seems to be put to one side. Even though we have seen it happen in more games than I have fingers and toes.
  18. First half was great, second half we sat back and invited them onto us and got punished for it. It has happened many, many times before under Pardew and people have blamed it quite often on the players because they are low on confidence or whatever. They certainly weren't low on confidence yesterday and they should have been instructed to get out there and get at them again second half. Inviting pressure and punting it long is a shit tactic with the quality of players we have and it always will be.
  19. Agreed. Don't know who they think they are really. This also shows the problem with clubs like WBA loaning players like Lukaku that are far too good for them. Expectations are raised without the funds to back it up. Quite happily see them go down with the mackems now.
  20. Think it's harsh on him really, it's been a shit run but no reason why he couldn't have turned it around. Not sure why these clubs appoint managers like Clarke and then expect miracles. Most managers at clubs like West Brom will have poor runs of form at some point, keep some faith in them and they might come out of it in a better position because of it.
  21. Doesn't even include his worst results for us either.
  22. Dunno how anyone can claim we didn't sit back and play shite second half.
