I'm not saying he wasn't good, I'm not saying he wasn't great but he's not Messi. I'd argue that Maradona was better than Pele too. The Brazilian league was by all accounts up there with all of the very best at the time. The European/South American divide wasn't what it was now. Yeah he's a crisp finisher. He's got that calmness in front of goal that it's almost impossible to teach. Really classy player. He looks class like. As you said you can't teach that calmness, similar in style to Romario in that regard.

In fairness as good as Emery is he's very cautious and tends to favour a different type of player than what Ben Arfa brings. As much as I love the bloke, I think we've ran out of excuses. Something's obviously gone on for him not to even make the squads.
