And Paul McGrath, who he sold for peanuts, played on for another 7 years or so, and is in my (admittedly hugely biased) opinion, still the finest defender to play in the Premiership. The long range ones are obviously more exciting as they go in within a flash but there's something about a Maradona, Best or Garrincha taking on about 4 or 5 players that is so hard for other people to produce. Not saying it's easy but it's far easier to wack a ball in on the off chance as you can get lucky whereas the likes of Shearer etc have made it an art, but being able to take on several players requires an amazing bit of genius in the make up that only a minority of players are capable of doing.

It's pointless us splashing out again on another striker in January, well in big fiscal terms anyway, as we have Owen to come back and have Martins already to partner him, so these two should be the main strike partnership for us without a shadow of a doubt, a stop gap loan signing wouldn't go a miss but we really do need some new full backs before another trophy signing striker.
