  1. How serious are we in the mire now, after this? The way we're playing lately we technically SHOULD stay up, but it's not like luck is going our way either. Lack of investment killing us. I'm just sad right now.
  2. Commentators are astonishing. Apparently we were 'lucky' to get our first goal, and Arsenal were 'on top' for the first half. Complete opposite of reality. And I love how even though it was an offside goal, they keep going on about what a wonderful goal it was, "super goal!"
  3. That's my view as well. Two years ago he was a vital cog in a poor team. Now we've moved on and with really good strikers up front we need players who can put in quality deliveries from wide areas. Yep, essentially we're carrying a few leftovers from a lower-standard first team. Players like Willo, Simpson, and unfortunately Jonas aren't on the same planet as Cabaye, Cisse, Ben Arfa or even Anita and Marveaux. Hopefully we will continue to add better quality, obviously it hasn't happened quite as fast as we'd like. Bang on. I love Jonas and he's pretty much a legend for his positive contribution to the club -- albeit a small legend -- but we really cannot have our entire left flank unoccupied as it currently sits.
  4. I avoided this thread during the relegation season, not wanting to believe it would happen. Checking in early for this season now. Late, according to many, from the looks of it.

I'm still not sure sacking him is the answer. I want to wait until the Jan transfer window. He's messed up big time this season but deserves a chance at keeping us up -- yes, I know how terrible that sounds. I wouldn't be saying if I didn't think he has it in him to keep us in the division, even if it's by the skin of our teeth. Should this occur, of course, then we can discuss getting someone new in the summer. I'm usually not this positive about managers, but just looking at how we're played the last 3 games, this hunger was NOT there in our relegation season. The players do care.
  6. Marv left, HBA right. Imagine Marv linking up with Santon, I can actually see some sort of a partnership.
  7. He's really coming into his own. Like him so far.

    You left out... http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01000/joekinnear2909gett_1000906c.jpg
  9. Bang on. Had Marv come on for Ben Arfa, we'd have picked something up from this game. Inexcusable, absolutely. "We have two lanky strikers who've won f--k all all game but are finally starting to work together, let's throw one more in there, innit!"
  10. Not sure why put Shola on, instead of Marveaux. Meat and potatoes for the Fulham defence, all these long balls.
  11. and I just love your flashy ways Curling it past Ali cos your so paid (uh) Awesome, both of you.
  12. You're fucking kidding me. Must. Find. GIF.
  13. I can't wait to watch us bring in a replacement who can control all of Williamson's long balls all day long, he better not score from any though.

OK, name them. Me, can't stand the bloke. Thought he was a crap manager when he arrived, thought he was crap manager last season, think he's a crap manager now. I don't do knee jerk. Did you, Sir, remain flaccid when we played like a dream at the Hawthorns, or shrugged and emitted a "flukey win, that" when we beat Man U, or did you by any chance lay there counting till ten in a missionary position as he took us to our first 5th place finish in years thinking, "oh he'll be done soon enough?" I ask because I don't know how you have to be knee-jerk to give credit where it's due. One can be sans any kind of jerking, knee or otherwise, simply by reacting as a human being to what's being put in front of you. He was hardly a crap manager last season, and to say otherwise is using hindsight to simply back your own opinion on him. I never rated him highly when he arrived either, but I'm putting my fingers where the keyboard is and saying after last season, I have at least some amount of faith in him, and that he may just turn this around, the silver-haired fox. I could be wrong, but adults make choices and take stances where they could possibly turn out to be wrong, but they do so based on evidence (for me that is evidence of last season, not this season -- just to clarify).
  15. Weren't we wearing our away kit at West Ham?

To be thoroughly honest, I think this result ... SHOULD... serve as a kick up the arse. We were pretty fucking good at Anfield and played well, and scored. Something is just missing in front of our own fans, maybe the pressure to entertain, attack, so Pardew somehow retracts like a convulsing vagina and goes uber-defensive to compensate for the pressure to perform. Who knows. But it seems like he needs to let our boys roam, like wild buffalo.
