Oh ffs. Someone's been rejecting reality for far too long it seems. Accept it, Manor. ACCEEEEEPPTTT ITTTTTTTTTTT. The first step is acceptance. Then you realise your love is still there, and will never go away, regardless of the division the club plays in.

I looked, Dave! Couldn't see it. Hater.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article6848776.ece Cheating goalkeeper Kim Christensen faces fine after moving goalposts. A goalkeeper is facing suspension and a heavy fine after — literally — moving the goalposts closer together to make it harder for the opponents to score in a top flight game in Sweden. Kim Christensen, the Danish goalkeeper for IFK Gothenburg, was caught on camera kicking in both sides of his goal to reduce the target area slightly at the start of a crucial match in the All Sweden division, the equivalent of the English Premier League. The game between IFK, who are top of the league and on course for a lucrative place in European competition next season, and Örebro was shown live on national television and the referee spotted that the posts were inside the guidelines marked on the pitch toward the end of the first half. The referee moved them back out to their correct positions but because he was unaware at the time that the goalkeeper was responsible, the player was allowed to continue the game. Related Links Net closing on websites conning World Cup fans Premier League previews: Van Persie to return Hanson hopes to maintain Swedish run Faced with clear television evidence, however, Mr Christensen readily admitted after the fixture that this was not the first time he had moved the goalposts — which in Swedish football often rest on top of the playing surface and can easily be manipulated. "I got the tip from a goalkeeping friend a few years ago, and since then I have done it from time to time," Mr Christensen told the tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet, adding that the posts were not fixed into the ground at many Swedish football grounds. Speaking after the game, Stefan Johansson, the referee, said: "Had I seen him do it I would have warned him. I think so anyway, it is not easy to find that rule." According to Dag Wikman, a member of the Swedish FA's disciplinary committee, had the referee witnessed the incident then a penalty kick to Örebro would have been the correct response. The game ended 0-0 but Örebro came close to scoring several times, so may decide to appeal to the Swedish Football Association's disciplinary board, especially given the view that they should have had a penalty in punishment for the goalpost move. Mr Christensen has already been reported to the game's ruling body, which has admitted that it has never faced a disciplinary problem like it. "I have never heard anything like this before, it is unique," the Swedish FA's disciplinary committee chairman, Kheneth Tallinger, told Aftonbladet. IFK Gothenburg, who have twice won the Uefa Cup, lead the All Sweden league with 47 points on better goal difference than AIK of Stockholm. The season ends on November 1 and any points deduction would wreck their successful campaign.

UV is on crack. Do you happen to also believe God told Bush to invade Iraq and see a valid reason for the new Allied countries to be in Afghanistan? You seem to believe everything the clubheads tell you, and in the simplest of theories. I'm not even gonna bother breaking down how retardedly wrong you are in your opinion of the final weeks of Robson's tenure here all the way to our relegation, but I'm gonna start with a reactionary, primary rebuttal: Robson inherited a far worse dressing room and still turned the club around. Souness took a top-five side with internal issues that could've been solved with any manager worth his money but instead cocked it up in typical Souness fashion. Blaming Robson for our relegation is an idea I hadn't ever come across before, so kudos for bringing your insightful opinion to the world.

Aside from Great Gangster's blast, the article itself was incredible, and reading the comments underneath made my morning. I need a coffee.

That's the thing, Northern Gimp, he's not an actual manager. Unless he transforms into one this season and into a successful one to boot, we're fucked until we actually appoint an actual manager and implement any sort of fucking plan for this club. Ashley needs to die.
-
PS: Not saying this applies to Hughton or the current situation, but it's something that always bugged me. When we went on that unbeaten run under Fat Sam, any negative comments were brushed aside, only for the same arrogant rose-tinted glasses-donning fans to start spouting the same bollocks after the first loss.
-
I hate this whole 'it's all good if you're winning' bollocks. It's for Fat Sam supporters and people who know nothing about football. If a manager's making horrid decisions and we're winning games flukily, this needs to be acknowledged and sooner rather than later will the tide turn and then everyone will be asking where it's going wrong, when it was wrong all along.

It broke, Dave! Where did all our money go? Answer me!
-
It was coming, boys. Come on. No investment in the team, no plan, no manager, what did we expect? The run was fantastic and surreal while it lasted. Reality has bitten. We need someone to take charge. Will it happen? *Sigh.*
-
Amazing how thick the fat man is. He grows to immeasurable levels of thickness each passing day. "Well we're winning, innit? Same squad all season, Derek my boy, my lottery ticket."

Aye, I remember when Raúl scored a winner at Camp Nou and he made a "now you shut up" sign towards us. I was screaming the most unsavoury things about his mother I could think about, but in retrospect it was a boss thing to do for him. Football is built from stuff like this too! That game was fucking fantastic. I can still replay all the goals in my head and the Raul "Shhhhhhhhh!" Fantastico!

Ronaldo best player, judging by the last 2, 3 seasons anyways.

Can't believe I hadn't checked this thread until now. Thread of the year!

Duff is shit. N'Zogbia inferred to something similar when he was being kept out of the team by this past-it, has-been. WTF does what he's 'achieved in his career' have to do with how he been playing the past few seasons? Reputation-based team-selection has served us well, eh? Riise's spot-on, and he wasn't exactly 'having a go,' simply outlining the reasons why he isn't in the first team and thinks why he deserves a go. I doubt Hodgson will take any 'action' which the article calls for. Sure, it's never good to critique another teammate in the press but come on, this was hardly sensational.

And there it is. It really is fucking easy to make this club a success as all one needs is common footballing sense. Ashley and his cronies have clearly lacked this and here we are, slowly clawing back to normalcy despite the fat one's ineptitude.
