  1. That was terrible. Everyone knows Ambani prefers rap. (Come on, beatbox for me...) There's only one Anil Ambani, He's Indian, he ain't no Afghani. Strolling into the stadia like the figure of Gandhi He don't take no heat from the media coz they be pansies. And when the chips are down He pulls out his gat 3 points in the bag And the referee laid out flat.
  2. Cheers lads. Gonna read this over a steaming dump.
  3. Someone please enlighten me, in the midst of all these facts... has the whole "David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry" thing turned from rumour to fact now? If KK did indeed demand that with a straight face, even after publicly laughing off our ability to attract players of such calibre, he needs to go spend some time alone in some woods. I always laughed at that ridiculous piece of information, it's something that'd be printed in Daily Sport. But it reared its head once again. From .com: The Sunday Times are running the following quotes from an un-named NUFC club director about you-know-who: "Right from the start, at his (Keegan's) interview for the job, it was made perfectly clear to him the way the club wanted the job done. There was not going to be a Chelsea scenario, with Newcastle paying big money and massive wages for established stars. “The club was going to be run like Arsenal, and the emphasis would be on scouring the world for the best emerging young talent, like Arsène Wenger has done with Nicolas Anelka, Patrick Vieira, Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor. We talked of building the club up over the next three to five years. Kevin sat there, agreed and took the job on those terms. (Told in the summer that he had a budget of £12m*, Keegan proposed signing David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry) “It was so bizarre that you had to wonder if he was doing it on purpose, to try to get sacked. There was no getting through to him. What he wanted would have cost the club £200m in transfer fees and wages, and he had been told over and over again that he had around £12m to spend. "It is common knowledge that we have been looking for a centre-half. Kevin’s suggestions were Jonathan Woodgate, Sami Hyypia and Richard Dunne. Where’s the residual value in them? “On the James Milner issue, the truth is that Kevin sat in on a meeting where the sale was discussed. Kevin reckoned James was worth £7m-£8m, and the plan was to use that cash to buy Sebastian Schweinsteiger. Tony Jimenez did the negotiations with Villa and managed to agree a fee of £12m with them, which was brilliant. Everyone thought it was too good to turn down, so the deal was done. Unfortunately, Schweinsteiger then said he wouldn’t come. “The (Owen) situation is clear. We didn’t try to sell Michael or speak to any club about him. On the contrary, we have made him a good offer to stay. It is an extended and improved contract, the richest ever offered to any Newcastle player. He has sent a letter back, saying he appreciates the offer, and talks are ongoing.” *Presumably with the sales of Milner, Rozehnal, Emre, Faye added, the pot was actually £30m. Fees for Gutierrez and Bassong are still to be confirmed but the £2.5m spent on Guthrie and £9.1m on Coloccini still leaves a massive amount that didn't get invested on squad strengthening before September 1st. NB: Mods, feel free to merge/chop this thread if the question's already been discussed at length elsewhere. Just point me in the right direction. Can't be arsed to troll through all the blame-threads.
  4. Fuck... ...off. Crumpy, I apologise wholeheartedly. Never again will I question your wisdom and authority as an oracle.
  5. This is a big Fuck You to the new owners in the Premiership who have absolutely no idea how football works. Two managers have resigned in the same week for the SAME reasons. Wake the f*ck up or get out of football you fat cunts.
  6. I'm in Canada and we don't have Sky Sports. So no way to confirm this? Nothing online so far. All I can do is wait, I guess. Fuck.
  7. My head's spinning. This is fuckin... Dark days, darkest since the 2-1 reverse in the rain under Gullit.
  8. We've spent more money than most have in the Premiership over the years. On both good and shite players. On stadium expansion and dodgy dealings in both Asia and the Rock. So what the heck is the difference if we spend the same amount of dosh on some useful signings? People are taking a really fantastical (fake) view of supporting a club, and how a club actually runs. It's a business. Wake up. If there are investors ready to make your (our) future safe, to say no for ... a misguided view of reality would not only be silly but could end up being shambolic for the future of the club, as nobody knows where the future lies. Of course, footie changed the day Abramovich stuck his greasy fingers into its already slimy pot, so either we go with the changes (we've already been taken over by a billionaire, mind you, it's just that he hasn't been the stupid money-throwing type) and keep the focus of making this club financially and competetively stable, or fight mid-table battles and keep refusing investment for the sake of "we'd rather lose with money we've spent on shite players than win with spending the same amount or more money on better players, like." The sad reality, Indi, is that the football fan in me totally agrees with your point of view, and I hated when Abramovich came to England, but since this is the way footie's going, to say no to change would be denying the voice of reason for the voice of nostalgia. Having said that, I don't want us to turn into a Chelsea or Man City, which is why I like(d) Ashley and his mentality. But after this whole debacle, who the fuck knows what's really going on.
  9. Eh? We've made a statement yesterday and said negotiations are ongoing. What do you expect, hourly updates telling us that "Discussions are still ongoing!!" From the club. If KK had come out and said something a lot of the worrying would have been allayed, even if they did need more time. The problem is that people are taking what the club says with a pinch of salt, mainly due to the rumours about compensation et al. We simply want both sides of the story, or at least some sort of a balance of information where we can stay pacified until a decision is made.
  10. In an ideal world the system in place right now would be both fruitful and work like a charm, but in the world of football it's gone balls up. At the end of the day if KK isn't happy then may be restructuring is the only option.
  11. okay kids...let's all agree on one thing and sing it together now: keegan & ashley are boooooth to blame.
  12. have you considered that the club may not know if he's still going to be our manager or not tomorrow? Well in that case, why doesnt Keegan come and tell us what he's doing. We deserve answers. What makes you think Keegan fucking knows what he's doing? Or what he wants? I'd wager he's sat in some lay-by in his Range Rover crying into his leather upholstery. Probably. As long as he's got the central locking on though, eh?
  13. I'd support the Toon even if the devil himself takes the reigns and uses the club money to cover himself in uber-expensive goatcheese. Get... a fuckin' grip, people.
  14. Might I just add that if Wise or Poyet are allowed anywhere near the first team I'm gonna need a lot of bottled water and salts. Despicable and ugly, ugly (face-wise) cunts. Snakes. Reptilian shapeshifters.
  15. Wow. Now that the dust has settled, let's look at this logically. Clearly there was an 'insider' which was quoted by the press who claimed that there were serious issues occuring behind the scenes and KK could walk out or be sacked. Something definitely happened, but what, who knows if we'll ever know. I think KK maybe did walk out but Ashley and co. probably had a heart attack and did all they could to convince him to stay. Knowing KK as well as we do, we know he holds his personal ethics really high and will quit at the first sign of deception or lies from his employers. Clearly there were some serious misunderstandings, especially regarding transfers, and when things finally came to a head at the end of the transfer window, decisions had to be made by both parties whether they could continue or not. All this was probably relayed by this anonymous 'insider' (wanker) to the media, who lapped it up like Lewinsky's soiled dress all over again. This was our Nipplegate. But we can breath a sigh of relief in the knowledge that all involved had the dignity and foresight to realise that NUFC is bigger than them, and us, all. Now can we get on with the football, please. Come on, you Toon.
  16. Happens in football. Still hard to believe the falls from grace some of the other top players have seen. Rivaldo voted the world's best player at 27/28 years old, then within two to three seasons hes washed up and on the verge of signing for Spurs on a freebie. Get the fack out! Rivaldo is class, been class all his life, best player after Zidane and Ronaldo that i've ever seen play live. He was immense for Olympiakos and AEK. Signed for an Uzbek team a few days ago. That's Uzbekistan.
  17. Will it affect his thoughts on signing a new contract?
  18. Follow the link for the photo gallery and look at 9/12.
  19. I guarantee you that if you stopped 10 Villa fans in the street and asked them what they thought about our transfer activity, 8 of them would say that MON needs to stop fucking about and start spending. Last year we hardly pushed the boat out. Our net spend was pretty small, certainly lower than most. This year we've spent a little more but the fact is we are still at the very least 4 players short of what we need to get by. The fact is it is very, very hard to sign players these days. If you're not in the CL, you're competing against a lot of other clubs. Having the money is no guarantee that you're going to get what you want. Much as people talk about crowds or tradition or potential or anything, for the majority of players there's not a whole lot between clubs like Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs, even Portsmouth, Blackburn and West Ham. They're all competing for the same players. If you think Ashley isn't prepared to spend money, then why did you offer what you did for Modric? Why would he have spent so much on the club and sorting out the debts only to watch it stagnate? Having a lot of money behind you these days is not enough. You can't go out and buy success of the shelf. Everyone has money these days, things are an awful lot harder. Having witnessed the many battles of wit in this thread I think it's clear that brummie is actually the smartest poster about.

The downs make the ups that much more sweeter. I'd much rather go at a team and lose 4-3 than set out to draw and lose anyway (yes that's you Allardyce you fuck). Fuckin' right.
