  1. It'd be fuckin' jokes if this was: A) True B) Not true, leaving the media with yet another cock-up.
  2. Did he fuck. He said it shouldn't be a peno, aye, but he still clearly tried to score it. I thought he did score it? Saved by Seaman, rebound knocked in by McAteer Was a right wanker, that one.
  3. Robbie Fowler against Arsenal, when he refused a penalty and then took a weak one so Seaman could save it. Paolo Di Canio for Hammers, I believe, who stopped play when a keeper was down, when most people would've scored. Sorry, not to undermine Leicester's philanthropy, merely appending to it.
  4. Seconded. For all those who think that's a useless partnership, all I can say is that it's up to the manager to make it work. If we had actual attacking, creative midfield players, there is no way that partnership will not work. How long are we supposed to use the big man - small man thing? It's what encourages long balls, nowt else.
  5. That could be catastrophic for us, unless we sell him and recoup our money, and bring in someone like Anelka.
  6. Alright then people, what do you think's going on in the mind of our young Nigerian. Our top scorer last season and with a couple of goals and an assist for Owen already this season, is it: 1) Right for him to be on the bench 2) Right for him to expect to start every game 3) Right for him to want to fuck off if this continues. And can Sam find a place -- SHOULD he find a place -- for him in the team?
  7. Was Sam planning to buy an attacking, creative midfielder during the summer? For all his drive and passion, Barton cannot be classed as such.
  8. I don't know what's worse: broke footballers or money-lending agents going around calling themselves Father Christmas and telling their tales of philanthropy to the press. Deserve each other, tbh.
  9. After Borat they're considered European.
  10. Are any of them fit? Sorry, but I need a female Becks to lure me to the game. I'm shallow.

    Emre

Emre formed a good partnership with Butt and we picked up some good results with those two in the middle. It seems incredible that two successive managers would make the same mistake but I think that's what happened, as you say Parker was given attacking license while Emre was told to protect and it suited neither player. Because Roeder made Parker captain he didn't have the balls to drop him, and I remember Souness saying he thought Emre was a defensive midfielder. Emre's problems are obviously about consistency and injuries, one possibly to do with the other. Keep him fit and I think he'll find consistency. The main challenge for Allardyce will be to keep him fit all season. The thing I like about him is he sees things early, plays the ball early and spreads the play from flank to flank. One of the problems of recent seasons has been players like Parker and Jenas who weren't willing to take a chance and run at people or play ambitious passes, instead deciding to turn around and play it sideways or backwards. In the end both took flak from the fans and wanted out at the first opportunity, which I think tells us something about their characters. It just goes to show that our fans aren't just about big tackles but appreciate a player who can drive forward and take a chance now and again. We've really missed Emre and Barton so far, the sooner the two are available the better. I still believe Emre has the potential to be a crowd favourite here, but the injuries have to stop. Aye theres no doubting he'll be a very useful player if he drives forward and plays his games in the final third. Unbelievably, we had him sitting on the half way line under Roeder, blatently lacking support upfront and Roeder didnt change it one bit, crazy. Should've been given more time, tbh.
  12. Actually, you could've met Big Al yerself that week that he was in town, promoting some charity football game for kids in Oakville or somewhere I think it was. It was the same week that Gattuso was also in town making Richmond Hill and Vaughan buzz with noise. However, I couldn't go see the legend himself, as the tickets to see Big Al were $150 a piece, I was working, and the tickets sold out faster than Vince Carter's mother.
  13. That's a Canadian sports channel, everyone. A few weeks old but still good, still Big Al. http://www.thescore.ca/videos/index.asp?vidID=1864&progID=158 http://www.thescore.ca/videos/index.asp?vidID=1865&progID=158 (I hope I don't get canned for posting that, as it's on their website, free for all to see.)
  14. Spot on. I think it's a knee-jerk of a reaction to go around posting 'knee-jerk' each time someone makes a negative comment on this board. It's almost become fasionable now. 600 minutes without a goal is hardly 'kneejerktastic.' And yes, we do have a 'grip.' Maybe you need to get the stats? 170 minutes under a new manager and a new team. If you ignore the two versus Barnsley on Wednesday. Or the other five goals scored away from home. Ultra-Cool mode for sure . Cheers!

  16. And some people still continue to fall for it.
  17. I think you've both been either semi-whooshed or whooshed by HTT, which isn't something to be proud about. lol. Transfer-window-vertigo, sir. The hopes are so high we believe anything!
  18. Emerton's shite, but does go forward well, and we desperately need cover on the right.
  19. Have to agree with every single line in there.
  20. In French ç is a sliding 'sss' -- hence its utilisation within words such as 'façade.'
  21. i'm pretty sure thats how his name is pronounced mate Erm... no. He's not Italian. It's Ca-SA-Pa. The Lyon fans put a ç in the middle. So it's Caçapa. Go to youtube and check it out yourself.
  22. It's obvious the players are overworked, overtrained and play far too many games. Not every person's equal at a biological level, and Marc Vivien Foe should've been a flag going up for all medics and trainers but nothing seems to have changed. Not saying this applies in this particular case, maybe it does, but he's not the first casualty to drop on the pitch with heart failure.
  23. I think the issue here is not how hurtful we think these chants were, or how harmless. It's people who're saying Mido overreacted upon hearnig them who should really consider that terrorism just *might* be a touchy issue for people from the Middle East or Egypt, and that being called one may just ignite a spark of anger that something like, say, "you're shit" won't. Just a thought.
