  1. I really don’t know what these referees have against us. This is blatant daylight robbery almost every game now.
  2. The couple of times we moved up the pitch to attack, Kenedy just hoofed it to absolutely nobody. He seems confused about his role. Ridiculous. Overall I agree with the consensus — we have been shocking going forward, no clue how to retain possession or build an attack.
  3. TBF you can't give an inch to these settlers. Next thing you know, they'll take issue with King George's taxation framework.
  4. This is high praise coming from you, and I agree. He's looked off the boil this year but when he plays instinctively, and to his strengths, he contributes a lot to the team. And unlike the wankers who've pulled on this shirt in the past, this lad runs his heart into the ground almost every game. For effort, you can't fault him.

    7-in-a-row written all over it.

    Paul Dummett

Nah. Dummett is a solid fullback. We could massively do without exposing our CBs by playing a winger as a wing back. Just because he hasn't got sleeve tattoos and tries to do stepovers every game doesn't mean to say that he isn't an important part of the team. Problem - Dummett is poor going forward. Solution - play him as a LB rather than a LWB and try and get our wingers to actually add something to the team. What a surprise you're a Dummettista
  7. Another scenario: he turns out to be absolute crap, and Ashley never, ever spends that kind of money on a player again, and blames Rafa on top.
  8. If this is somehow true, where will he play? Number 10? Or on the wing?
  9. Joselu gets a ton of stick but maybe we forget to apply same stick to this dude. Goodness me is he horrendous. We need to give Rafa real $ for fullback cover.
  10. All your points are correct, and the highlighted bit is the worst aspect of the reality today. I'm hoping the exit of Ashley (lol, whenever a takeover actually materializes) will make the long-lost fans return to the ground.
  11. Thought I'd create a new thread to reflect on the on-going disaster that is our home form. And I'm not just talking about Rafa's reign here -- going back to Jenas' famous quip, we've seen many talented (and untalented) NUFC teams play more freely away from home than at fortress St. James'. With the recent booing of Perez to the focus of match-going fans seemingly turning anti-team and pro-regime, I wonder what the solution is. I'd have to say as soon as Ashley goes, we may see the return of a lot of the sound fans who've chosen to stay away. One thing that strikes me each time I watch a home game from shores afar (Canuck here) on telly, I don't feel the same old roar we used to feel during Keegan's or SBR's reign. Or when Hatem got the ball. It's been replaced by this pervading nervousness from the crowd that no doubt affects the players. Sure, they're pros and get paid millions, but when your own fans are fucking booing you (Perez), and the atmosphere is largely pensive, this surely adds pressure on the team that is simply not needed, not when we're already working on bare bones thanks to Ashley.
  12. I want VAR to be implemented simply to show up the conspiracy theorists who’ve been trying to convince us it’ll be a drunk Paul Merson smashing buttons in front of a screen, in a dark room somewhere.
  13. “Not gonna call for gun control just because we’ve had another mass shooting.”
  14. I hate these cunts. Their technical area celebrated their goal as if they’d just won the champions league final. Played a nothing game all day, were dirty, and won by two defensive mistakes. Fuck them.
  15. + the 5 minutes added on, no stopping play for a head injury, etc. If I was a conspiracy theorist I’d say these refs had it in for us.
  16. It's a cowards challenge that. If you're jumping for leverage you use both arms. He basically saw perez jumping and thought he'd stick a limb on him before he got clattered 100%
  17. That’s one angry ball.
  18. People saying a raised elbow in the face is not a foul How quickly fans forget the rigmarole this league went through in the mid 2000s when players’ eye sockets were being smashed by precisely this action, and league decided to finally clamp down on it. 100% red card and a foul. No need to lift yourself up with that high an elbow knowing the attacker is right next to you, going up for the same ball. It’s akin to players now putting their hands behind their backs in the box to avoid giving *unintentional* handballs. This for me is the same — if you go up with an elbow and catch someone in the face, you’re the guilty party.
  19. Absolutely fantastic today. Should’ve won a penalty with Boly sent off. Done in by the ref.
  20. Absolutely this. If there was 5 mins for this, expect to see 20 mins for a game sometime soon. Yup, no idea where the 5 mins came from. This league is fucking rigged.
