  1. Seems an odd move to spend £12m on a player who plays in the same position as your current best attacking player. It'd be a shame to see Young move on, but he'd be a good signing for any of the top 4 imo, particularly Arsenal who could do with some width and a bit more direct attacking play.
  2. Only 11 days away so I thought I'd give this a bump on the off chance anyone who would be interested in going hasn't seen it yet.
  3. Oba might not be allowed to play at the next one then?

    Butt's Turn!

There are so many jokes to be made about that thread title.
  5. How can bringing in Joe possibly be of greater benefit than bringing in Shearer?
  6. I'd chuck a claim for damages in against the FA. NUFC have confirmed the FA gave them permission to play the game and so advertised it accordingly. Supporters must have a good chance of getting something surely now the same FA who granted permission have now at this late date withdrawn that permission. I'd chance my arm. The FA have to process the details of hundreds of friendlies, you can't really blame them for it slipping through the net.
  7. Harper Raylor Taylor Hughton Kadar Geremi Butt© Nolan Guthrie Carroll Smith Hughton's better at full back. I'd have Dowie up top over Smudge too.

The way things are at the minute do you think there is a 25% chance we'll stay up? We have the same gutless fuckers who took us down last year, and on a day to day basis we have them coming out and saying they want away, one at a time. We have no manager, no owner, no money and most likely by the time that the season starts no first team. We are the team that everyone is going to be looking to turn over in this division, and with the remnants of last years shit-kickers coupled with the reserves and juniors (neither of which have set the world alight), most teams we come up against are most likely to. We have to get the fat bastard out the door as fast as we can, but the fucker is staying put and fucking us over as best he can. This must be a piss take...I can't believe that anyone thinks we're more likely to go down than stay up. Fuck me. I know it isn't impossible, but if you really believe it's that likely stick some fucking money on. You'll get about 20/1 on what should be about 1/2 if you believe there's a 75% chance of going down, that's 40x the value.
  9. Presumably if they did that, you were offering the same wages and he wanted to join you he'd just dig his heels in, forcing them to take less money?
  10. Why are they being dicks? Refusing a smaller bid? They agreed a fee with us, but since Spurs came sniffing about, they've suddenly pulled out and are refusing to let Naughton speak to us, even though it's where he wants to go. It's a business. They're trying to get as much money as possible for their player, which is particularly logical given that he's one of their best and the club they're selling to are not only in europe but have been earning shitloads of TV money by virtue of being in the premiership for the last few years.

    U23s & Academy

Zamblera returns. Presumably didn't do that well for Sampdoria then? Is Vuckic injured?
  13. If it isn't too late already it undoubtedly will be by the time we have a manager. Would be a decent signing though.
  14. Nicky Butt hasn't passed it properly for even longer than that.
  15. Sounds like some double counting to me...

As things stand now, Ashley will keep the club and will run thsi club on the cheap. We'll sell our salable players to lower the wage bill and offset our massive income loss (Beye, Martins, Bassong, S Taylor, etc), have the Chuckle borthers or Kinnear as managers, have the lowest team morale in the league and be resting our hopes on our academy juniors and reserve team - who will lose the vast majority of the league games. Relegation is very a real possibility. You think there's a 75% chance of us getting relegated? Fuck me man
  17. It is just the same as being on strike against poor conditions of employment. Relatively speaking, the players are experiencing poor working conditions, and are perfectly entitled to speak out. Relatively speaking? Relative to whom? Most people in the country's jobs are under threat to some extent with no certainty how long their boss or even company is going to be around in its present guise. Most people put up with it though. Whilst getting paid less in a year than these rabble do in a week. Relative to other professional footballers or staff. Your pre-season is being taken by a coach with no long-term direction regarding the season ahead, and three of the main coaches are looking at leaving the club and therefore have no long-term interest in your fitness for the current season. Chris Hughton is selflessly working his guts off knowing that in a couple of weeks he could be sacked on a whim by the new people. Two coaches are leaving in two weeks and no active attempt to replace them is being made. Many players are being treated like slaves by Mike Ashley: do as you are told, don't ask questions, don't get any answers regarding the future, and you aren't allowed to leave. Boo-hoo. The lazy cunts should have thought about that when horrifically underperforming last season. Treated like slaves Don't see why being shit or lacking confidence can be the players fault. Certainly the players that have spoken out so far have every right to. I was more referring to the rumoured 'strike', which I've just realised isn't this thread so apologies about lack of clarity. I still think treated like slaves is funny though.

  20. In the same boat. I'll still go on the Friday though, I well miss Nottingham.
  21. Had a good season, Redknapp loves him. No chance of him leaving.
