I realise there is already a topic disucssing these releases, but thought it might be interesting to see how much support, if any, the outgoing have/had - particularly in light of the .com piece.

Appiah has looked quality on the few occasions I've seen him. Might be worth an enquiry, sure I read something about him moveing for £6m this season.

Make it to about 3 homes and 3 aways most years. Don't live anywhere near Newcasstle at home or at Uni, and have a number of work/money issues but trying to make it to more and more games when I can justify it.

I agree. He'll be a much better person to sort these players out (I'd include Luque in that as well) or he'll ship them out. He's got a strong enough personality to do it imo, and has shown he is adept at getting the best out of players.

Luque's been gash for us, and although there's no reason to suggest that would change I wouldn't mind Allardyce having some time with him on the training ground, see what he can get out of him - he'll be going for free anyway, might as well see if he can make a difference.

If you think we'll finish under Everton and Spurs with Big Sam you are off your head. I think he's right, they will. We will NOT get into the top 4 next season, or the one after, or the one after. Where we finish with regard to Everton and Spurs next season will not be relevant to the top 4! ps I bet you thought the same thing about us breaking into the top 4 shortly before Bobby took over. I know I did. There's no way of predicting the future in football that accurately - we probably won't make it there, but it's a bit much to [seemingly] state it as fact that we won't.

It might seem off topic but Ryan Nelson is an excellent player. One of the best defenders outside the top 4 imo.

I thought that Russian owned Pompey now? He not going to throw money at them? They've certainly overacheived with what they've got this season though, it has to be said. Agree with the point on Spurs. They've progressed a fair way in the last couple of years and will inevitably hit a plateau soon imo, much as we did after two great seasons under SBR. A couple of strong seasons and we could easily be regarded as a better side than Spurs, even by the London media, imo.
