like you kicked up a fuss when people protested about the board who gave you regular european football for the only time in your life. Morons mackems.gif Yeah, you know, like people who think you can carry on ramping up the credit without ever having to pay the bill.

Shay Given signs for Manchester City for £5.9m plus add-ons
OzzieMandias replied to a topic in Football
He's a Man City player now. Fuck him. I hope he never wins anything, ever. Don't particularly blame him for wanting to go. Don't very much like the way he went about it. It doesn't matter either way. At the end of the day, they have money and we don't and that's the reality that counts. Sad to say, in a season or two he'll probably be warming the bench or sold to another club in the mid-table pack after some bigger name becomes the next sky-blue plaything. -

I must be super cynical as i pointed this out a few days ago, until ashley recovers his £100 mi he cant sell I'm confused. So how's he going to recover his £100 million, then? Easy. Every season he sells our best players and buys some inferior ones with the money this generates. The unspent cash goes into his pocket. This season for example we look like funding the £10m purchase of Xisco, Nolan and Taylor by selling Milner, Given and N?Zogbia for about £25m. A possible profit of £15 million on transfers would only cover just over half the clubs yearly losses (based on the last lot of accounts), while reducing the pot of future players who would bring in a profit if they are so inferior. Easy my arse. While not taking a penny, he would still need to subsidise the club. Sounds a great money spinning idea. The question was how is he going to recoup the £100m he lent himself, not the £135m he paid for the club. Ashley needs about £240m to break even. He almost certainly intends to do this by flogging our best players and then selling up. Assets stripping isn?t complicated, you just need a complete lack of morals. He should be able to get £200m for a struggling PL club of Newcastle?s stature. So if he keeps us up for four or five seasons he?ll be quids in. If we go down he?s fucked. I was joking but you knackers are serious! -

It's a good job most players don't spit their dummy out when a manager gets their name wrong or we'd have had a desperately thin squad under Bobby. -
Whose opinions am I posting then?
-
1) The club was for sale the minute Keegan was employed. Probably one reason he made Keegan have a walkout penalty clause in his contract. The protests were only an excuse to make it public. 2) No manager would touch the job because he was only offering a 1 month contract. A contract to the end of the season would have seen plenty of interest and not caused much of a problem for new owners who would probably keep any manager until the Summer anyway. 3) Are West Ham not up for sale like? Everton & Portsmouth too for that matter. If you ever manage to put any actual facts in one of your posts, perhaps you can highlight them in red.

Ashley was trying the sell club, as he had been asked to do. I'm not at all happy with the way things have been handled, but in a lot of cases he really is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
-
It's anyone's fault but the people who actually run the club, it seems. Yup, always the fans fault. The fans are indeed one of the many actors in our ongoing downfall.

That's still $30 million on top of £40 million he's put in just to keep the club going on top of £70 million to pay off debts racked up by Shepherd and co. on top of the £1.1 billion hit he's taken in the banking meltdown. These are huge sums. Serves him right. Yeah, let's keep this realistic.
