Well, that conclusively proves that Ashley is little better than a fiendish reincarnation of Gordon McKeag, Mort is a liar and Magnusson is a model football club chairman.

He's a bit more cagey here, but predicts Sunderland for the drop and says the time he was most happy as a player was at the Toon: http://sport.guardian.co.uk/smalltalk/story/0,,2145434,00.html

Really? What position? I'd guess you'd be some kind of Walter Mitty style hardman. CM, i dont know who walter mitty is. He was the playmaker for New York Cosmos.

I don't think so. There were some grumblings early in the window about the new board not moving quickly enough, but that was all.

What on earth does that have to do with whether Chris Mort or the owner of West Ham has more credibility on the Dyer issue? you can answer the whole post in context if you like I'm not really sure you know what credibility means No, I was only interested in that bit. You can answer the simple question if you like.

The burning question now for Man City supporters, assuming they can stomach the Faustian bargain of having this kind of sugar daddy, has to be the nature of extradition agreements between Thailand and the UK.
-
I think there's no doubt that he's a complete bastard, and Thailand now having a military government doesn't change that fact. Human Rights Watch research their stuff very carefully, and don't throw accusations around lightly. This was their letter to the Premiership, which details some of what went on under Thaksin, along with links to more detailed stories: http://hrw.org/english/docs/2007/07/31/thaila16544_txt.htm

You'll probably see better football at MTK-Zalaegerszeg than you will at Vasas-Diosgyori. And I can't vouch for the bar still being behind the goal at Vasas. Zagred is a fair old haul from Split. Funnily enough, I might be in Split that weekend. There'll be plenty of people watching the Estonia game in bars.

National stadium is in Zagreb. If that's where you going to be, then go. It'll be a laugh. If you're on the coast, though, I'd say it wasn't worth the journey.

I lived in Budapest for a while, and went to games at Ferencvaros, Ujpest, Vasas and MTK. It was all pretty crap. At that point (late '90s) only Ferencvaros could fill their stadium, Ujpest had the next strongest support, and MTK were winning everything because a businessman who'd made his money out of a national retail chain (!) had put some cash into the playing staff. MTK were always known as the "Jewish" team, which meant they got a lot of racist crap from rival supporters. I was at an MTK-Ferencvaros game where the Fradi support outnumbered the MTK fans, and they were all singing anti-semitic songs. I found that aspect of the game there pretty depressing. Otherwise, no money, crumbling stadiums, bumbling football. Everyone eats toasted pumpkin seeds, which you can buy from street sellers on the way to the stadium. Ferencvaros had the best atmosphere even though I hated the club. Vasas was my favourite. Friendly crowd of drunken trade unionist types, and a bar behind one of the goals where you could get a beer and breaded chicken sandwich while watching the game. It's changed a bit since I was there -- then dominant Ferencvaros in deep shit, for example -- but I think you'll find it's still pretty crap. When you go, who are MTK playing? They've got Zalaegerszeg (sp.) - we're only going for 5 days and that's the day after we arrive so I figured that a club with the name Budapest would be the wisest - is there another team in the city? It's on 1st sept, was looking into going to a game in croatia first (go there after Buda) but there doesn't seem to be anything on. Don't suppose the Internationals are being played early sept? There are loads of teams in Budapest. All the ones I mentioned above, plus a few others -- Honved, BTSC, III. Kerulet... Way too many for a city of two million -- and that's part of the reason why it's all a bit crap. Money's spread too thin. Zalaegerszeg are a provincial team. Beat Man U in the home leg of a CL qualifier a few years back. Don't know much about them, though.

Sankt Pauli's probably my favourite club in Germany.

Don't be daft. He can get his eggs delivered.
-
Aye, right! As if!!! You crack me up with your mad-cap ideas, man! He's just trying to pretend he's got more than one house in order to confuse the eggers.

Maybe he slept in. Bit like me catching a cab when I'm late instead of taking the bus.

Now entertain us with a rousing chorus of "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles".

You don't know any more than he does tbh No, but I don't believe Mort was lying when he said this had been done as a response to dodgy behaviour on their part. yeah, lawyers never lie. What sort of response is upping the price?? in my book, either fucking childish, or stupid. Pull the deal, fair enough, but to turn round and go "nah, we want more now"...that sounds more like a group of people too used to getting their own way, not good business sense. I don't think Ahsley is stupid, not by a long chalk, but i think what he did on taht occasion was very stupid. Yeah, and you don't know what happened either, but go ahead and believe Magnusson/Curbishley and the cockneys rather than our people, if that makes you feel good. "our people" - yes, mate, they are NUFC peple, so they MUST be more trustworthy than ANYONE else, definately. how foolish of me for not seeing that before. I fele such a fool for forgetting that anyone connected to this club is immediatley trustworthy. I feel such a fool for imagining you might ever take anything but the most negative possible view.
