Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
OzzieMandias replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
Why? Who would you rather??? Glazers?? Munto finance??? Hicks?? Welcome to the real world - we aren't ever going to get bought out by a billionaire! It could be so much worse We did and the fat c*** took us down. Yeah it could be worse. If we were in League 2 it could still be worse and some people would still say Mike Ashley was doing a great job. don't even understand this post??? Of course it could be worse but it is'nt mistakes were made and now we are probably going to be in the prem again next year - without all the deadwood but with younger fresher players. Long term being relegated could be good thing. Its all about enjoying the game and I'm enjoying it more this season than last. What do you think our chance of survival is? I think we'll struggle to match Derby's points total. That's a bit pessamistic - whats that 20 points??? I'll bet with our best team out and a full house we would comfortably be well out relegation places this year. I honestly think now we have a better team than Hull, Wolves, Portsmouth, West Ham, Stoke, Burnley and Blackburn. And if we don't - playing with two quick wingers is at least entertaining! Don't know you, but surely you can't write us before we are even there?? Some people just like to whinge. The gloom merchants are a little frustrated at the moment because we're top of the current heap, clearly on the road back to the Premier League, and we just had a decent transfer window that addressed nearly all of the obvious immediate problems, but it would take more than that to stop this lot from moaning. People trying to look "hard" by presenting the gloomiest possible predictions ("I think we'll struggle to match Derby's points total.") is a fact of life on this board. Just enjoy it at its most ridiculous ("We're struggling to crawl out of this league atm") because it ain't going to go away. -
Charles N'Zogbia joins Wigan Athletic for fee believed to be £6.5m

Is he complimenting or insulting us here? Neither. -
Everton maybe, although there's the problem of his wages.
-
Yeah, that'll happen. He'll go to another top 6 or 7 club. Well, he's already ticked Liverpool and Chelsea North off the list, I can't see Arsenal, Chelsea or Man U going for him. That leaves Spurs or Villa. He's already played for Martin O'Neill, who has to my memory shown no desire of wishing to be reunited with him but you never know. Meanwhile, Bellamy and 'Arry doesn't feel like a marriage made in heaven.

Not many managers are as good at handling difficult players as SBR. The fact he was willing to take a risk on them, and could make it pay off, was one of the reasons we ended up with Bellamy and Robert. Many clubs wouldn't have touched them at that time. Or wouldn't have kept them long. I remember SBR saying that Robert was the most difficult the most difficult player he'd managed after Romario.

He'll not be going to Leeds unless they get bought by some magnanimous billionaire or he accepts a 95 percent pay cut. He would have suited Leeds about 40 years ago.

Same business as Arab emirates, Thai politicians, Russian oligarchs, American leveraged buy-out merchants....

The thing about Fenham is that there's absolutely nothing in the middle. Was obviously planned by some real puritanical tossers. Just a few places clustered on the very edges -- out on the West Road, or over at Cowgate. Walking from one to the other could take you 25 minutes, with not a single refreshment stop in between.
-
The Fox and Hounds is a pub in Fenham. The exception that proves the rule.
-
Avoid Fenham. There are no pubs.

One or both would be out the door at the first chance KK would get. Don't worry on my account. I'm perfectly happy not to behave like a star-struck adolescent. We wont worry ! "get out of our thread, get out of our thread...you dirty keegan hating bastard get out of our thread" Sorry, but you've just convinced me to stick around. This thread needs balance!

Play-offs for fourth Premier League CL place?
OzzieMandias replied to OzzieMandias's topic in Football
I'm surprised how many people favour the crap status quo. -
that the zeppelins ? No, WWII.

There's Hartlepool and there's West Hartlepool, not? One of them looks down on the other. Not sure which. I've got a book called "Air Raids Over the Hartlepools".

Play-offs for fourth Premier League CL place?
OzzieMandias replied to OzzieMandias's topic in Football
Exactly. At the moment it's like a vicious circle (or virtuous circle, from the top 4's point of view). Certain teams finish in the top four so they get the money to buy the players to finish in the top four to get the money to... And no one has a hope of challenging this without gambling everything on debt, or attracting a super-rich sugardaddy. -
Seems like a good idea to me. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/14/premier-league-play-off-champions-league

Swansea Town --> Swansea City
-
Clapton Orient --> Leyton Orient --> Orient --> Leyton Orient Aye, that's three times.
-
Would Leyton Orient be the team that changed it twice?

Where is it known that this is the one and only better offer that he has had in the last 10 years ?
