1547: What a fabulous save from Newcastle keeper Tim Krul. Alan Hutton sends over a cross from the right and Roman Pavlyuchenko flashes a header goalwards, Krul brilliantly tipping it on to the post and the ball rolls along the line and away to safety.

If we sell the likes of Barton for peanuts in January then id happily take 17th again.

I got 2 points, but thankfully someone deleted their team at the start of the season and I drew them in the head to head this week
-
They just lost to Everton and sure here we beat Everton. They may as well not show up.

Ah back in Newcastle, thankfully it wont be called off. We owe these cunts big time and tbh I dont fear them one bit. Ill go for 2-0 to us, Carroll and Barton.
-
8th in the league and 6 points (basically 7 points) clear of the drop zone for Christmas. Happy?

Fair play to Leeds. Currently beating QPR 2-0 and sitting 2nd in the Championship. Im sure most people would have Leeds back in the Premier League, especially ahead of teams like Cardiff.

I hope the same guy who sniped Taylor gets him.

NEWCASTLE United striker Andy Carroll has been cleared over claims he attacked an ex-girlfriend. Allegations the Newcastle United star assaulted lingerie model Laurie Henderson following a night out have been dropped. The centre forward was arrested in October at a house in the exclusive Darras Hall estate, near Ponteland, on the outskirts of Newcastle, and held in police cells overnight and questioned. The incident was said to have happened after Carroll enjoyed a night out with friends in Newcastle following the team’s 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic on October 17. The footballer appeared at Hexham Magistrates’ Court the following day charged with assaulting the 18-yearold. Magistrates imposed bail conditions which included the provision he live with club captain Kevin Nolan. Days after his court appearance, arsonists targeted Carroll’s £150,000 customised Range Rover while it was parked on the driveway of Nolan’s home in Darras Hall. Carroll had been listed to appear at Hexham Magistrates’ Court for trial on January 10. But the Crown Prosecution Service has now decided to drop the case against the 21- year-old. A CPS spokesman said: “Having reviewed all the evidence available, we have decided there is no longer a realistic prospect of conviction and we are no longer proceeding with the case against Andrew Carroll.” http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/local/tyneandwear/8734065.Carroll_cleared_on_assault_claims/

The FAI in talks with England over possible friendly The FAI appear keen to attract England to the Aviva Stadium The Football Association of Ireland is in talks about hosting a possible friendly with England at the Republic's home ground - Dublin's Aviva Stadium. Reports on Friday morning suggested a game could take place next June although the claim was later dismissed by the English FA. However, the FAI said on Friday evening that it was "in discussions with the English FA about a possible friendly". The statement added that the June date reported in the media was "incorrect". "The discussions are ongoing and it is expected that an announcement will be made within the next month," concluded the FAI statement. Coupled with the English FA's denials over the June date, it appears that if a friendly were to take place it would probably be in 2012. 606: DEBATE I was there the last time they played and it wasn't pretty The two countries have not met since the ill-fated 1995 encounter at Lansdowne Road which had to be abandoned because of crowd trouble with the Republic winning 1-0. England could have a spare friendly date to fill on 8 June next year as the proposed game with Thailand looks likely to be scrapped, although the Republic have an away Euro 2012 qualifier in Macedonia on 4 June. A friendly with England could net the cash-strapped FAI over £4m. The FAI has recently had to make financial cuts and a number of staff are to be made redundant including the association's current technical director Packie Bonner. The slow take-up for 10-year tickets at the new Aviva Stadium is believed to have been a major contributory factor to the FAI's current financial difficulties. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/irish/9278444.stm

Jesus christ. We may as well accept that we are doomed. I would just love to know how, in the mind of Mike Ashley, relegation and selling our best players is good business.
