I’m sick of the FFP/PSR shite too. I’m not gonna let that bother me too much and I suggest you all do the same. It’s a problem for later. To show maximum ambition we have to make walk a very thin line. Sometimes big risks means great rewards, sometimes it bites us slightly in the arse eye. But IF we are gonna aim for the top and compete then we have to make minor sacrifices like Minteh for example. See the bigger picture.

Put all the quality he brings aside m. This could prove to be a great “opportunistic” signing if we get him. Normally 9/10 he would be out of our reach, but there might be a chance now considering the other clubs and what most of them have already. This would be a signing that makes the likes of Isak and Bruno etc thinking yeah this is the project I was promised. It will very much help us keep our top stars. Or it would help if it happens at all.
-
Yes it is. But it would feel even more massive if it was the same amount for two players that don’t prove to be big hits for us. We know what we get here. It also raises the stature of our club as it’s a bit of a statement signing. It will also help us to attract other players around going forward, even if only slightly.
-
Instead of looking at the price, look at what we would get. Also no risk whatsoever. We could spend less on some other random dude (say 40m) and that could prove to be a turd in this league. We cannot afford to makes risks financially either. If it costs us an extra day 20m now it’s not that bad considering what we are very likely to get from the player in the next 8 years or so. Going forward we wouldn’t have to spend again to replace him in the team with another player. We can put that money we have towards other positions/academy for the next 8 years instead of taking risks and upgrade player x at RCB two times over if unlucky. He’s quality and versatile as he can play the LCB role equally well.
-
Thing is that you are also paying for a Guaranteed quality player. We might buy another Botman, or similar price who doesn’t prove to be a very good signing as we would have hoped. This is more or less risk free. Guehi is very very unlikely to go wrong.
-
Very much agree! Buy it nice or buy it twice.
-
IF this happens we probably will have to overpay, yes. Having said that it’s also a statement that you get for the money when it comes to reputation imo. Especially when thinking “going forward”. It would show that we mean business. Both for present players and top quality targets, purples or top draw youngsters.

Margot Robbie could turn up at your doorstep and you would reject here because of her US nipple gardens were too big (only joking mate)
-
Yes! Straight in the ass with me upside down.
-
IF it happens for 60-70m then yeah it’s expensive, but fuck that. It’s proven top quality and this for a young player in his position. This will put put ripples on the surface around the world which will enhance our ambition and name. It would raise everyone’s belief and confidence in our team. Never mind the ceiling in quality overall.

And i was just about to go to the gym and for a rum
-
Maybe we are putting more money on him only spend less on a RW? Because it’s more difficult to find a truly good expensive RW that we can attract? Or we might even afford both (expensive ones)
-
How often does Kudus play RW? Originally more of a central player isn’t he? The times I’ve seen him he’s been quite wide. No idea about his character but if it’s good I wouldn’t mind us breaking the bank for him and then get Thiaw or whoever in and call it a day. What would he cost? 75m? He might ask for ridiculous wages though. Hopefully PM can find a high quality gem that blossoms into a 70m+ player over the season.
-
Said this in an external group chat ”Also, let’s not forget that he will have a shitload of better players around him with us. Yea he might miss a lot of chances in the beginning, but once a few starts going in then that finishing percentage can take off very quickly” It’s such a massive thing confidence wise and to have the feeling that you belong at a certain level. This plus how much he should improve in various attributes as well.

His runs remind me of Shane Ferguson /TBG

I like these kind of signings so much more than overrated injury prone has beens like DCL. If he doesn’t quite hit the heights we are hoping for then we will probably get our money back at worst.

Personally I don’t see people shitting themselves though. 99% that even talk about it they more or less mean hypothetically (imply) at how shit it would be. Myself I’m 90% certain that he’ll stay. Even if he did go then so be it. I only want players that genuinely want to stay (which I think he wants).

He’s a boyhood Liverpool fan.

One is more of a leftie? One might not be ready quite yet. We might be aiming higher..
-
Hopefully it means Ciao Thiaw (not the pizza)
-
As if the end of last season wasn’t properly convincing already
-
No, don’t think so, just tagging him to look important I guess.
