Don’t see Liverpool going for JWP at all. If anything they will be looking to get the age down of their squad. Very unlikely!

We can make better signings with a bit more long term thinking. Not sure if he has the legs to play for us further ahead. Not worth the investment. Get someone younger imo.

I would say that he is similar in the way Bruno is when it comes to a positional sense. Very composed and has the ability to time and sniff out danger. He’s stronger than Bruno but doesn’t have quite the same ability when going forward. He’s technically very good as well as being very press resistant. He’s also good at pressing, especially the early press where he often gets quite high up the pitch and wins the ball. He might not have Bruno’s final ball but his passing is still very good. So a good choice as starting our moves in the build up play. On the ball he is calm and composed.

Tuchel is a difficult character too like Conte. He often falls out with people and doesn’t last long most times.

Whoever we bring in to play the “#6” role has to have technical ability and a good progressive passing range in combination with being reasonably athletic and have good footballing intelligence imo. Scott isn’t the answer! Howe could make him a better player yeah blah blah but he’s a limited footballer. I honestly don’t think we will go for him (I pray). Gone are the days of playing a pure DM with a lack of footballing ability. Get Ugarte in and be done with it.

I’ve already said that I think Howe could make him better than he has shown. It’s not the damn point Imagine how good a player can become under Howe if X player isn’t as limited and has much more talent.

He was good under Rafa despite not scoring. Howe did the world for him after Bruce.

He wasn’t as bad in the Bundesliga as he was with us playing in the wrong position in a new league with the pressure of the #9 shirt in a shit team.

To reach the “next level” we need to sign players with proper technical ability to to progress even further. Scott doesn’t have this. We need players that are transformative and add top quality. It’s obviously not only about technical ability, but in CM i think it’s vital whether you are a DM or a more attacking one. Look what a player like Bruno can do because of his ability as well as being so press resistant. Get real quality in and keep the current starting players as squad players if the new ones are on a different level. It doesn’t have to be proven big names. But there’s tons of young good quality players out there with the added bonus of having massive potential. Just an example, but someone like say Ugarte for £40-50m is a much much better investment than Mctominay for £20m or whatever. Probably even more. He’s a limited player even if Howe could get him to perform better than he is now. Can’t make wine out of water.

Then get some quality young players instead. Also, getting top quality players in will/can make the current ones to good team/squad players instead.

Piss poor decision making IF this happens.
