I've wanted this system for ages. There's so much more playing depth and angles of space to play into. As well as making us unlikely to have too many midfielders in too advanced positions at times. Also a closer link for the CM to play into feet.

I hope so. It's not ideal but we really need a massive rebuild. The likes of him and Willock can hopefully release some extra funds along with a bigger sale (Gordon).

I didn't say that he's the best at getting balls into the box. End product aside he's our best in general play, and I mean on the ball, not delivery/finishing. No it isn't weird! I didn't say that As a team I think we are quite predictable as we mostly attack from wide and it's pretty well known by now. Thought it was pretty obvious what was meant. Because we DO attack from the wide areas mainly, so no surprise we get many balls into the box.

Barnes is good technically when it comes to striking a ball. Whether that's a cross or a finish. Not so good otherwise. Murphy is sloppy as well. Elanga too...

Now it's looking like Gordon is leaving too, and he's probably our best in general play. Plenty of balls in the box doesn't surprise me considering our attacking play is quite predictable and us attacking mainly from the wide areas.

Wide areas is lacking massively too imo. Another big reason why I think we're poor in possession. Out wide we lack technically to put it politely.

Pressure is massive aye. Obviously Howe will and should have a bit of a say. Having said that, I hope that Wilson and co (Nickson etc) have a couple of non negotiable attributes when it comes to new players, such as technical ability/flair for example (depending on position)

You can blame the setup (above Howe) to a degree. Elanga however was high up on his list even if not the #1 target maybe, there's no denying that. Even then, buying him because we couldn't get Mbeumo or whoever for example is like going into a Mercedes Benz store and just because you couldn't buy your main target you go out with a sink instead of looking elsewhere. I'm dead certain that Nickson would have liked us to sign other players than Elanga and that he had other better options.

My biggest worry is that Howe will continue to be stubborn and go with the same style/setup and similar type of players (especially out wide). Can't overlook how poor his in game management is overall too. I want him to have another season in a way but at the same time I'm not sure I believe in big changes from him. Don't see how we will evolve unless we prioritize creativity and technical ability a bit more. He seems dead set on athleticism (especially out wide). We need a bit of balance.
