We probably won’t sell him, and I don’t want us to. He has a bright future. Having said that, let’s not kid ourselves that IF a very good offer comes in we might very well consider it. If the club see that the money in could be used for a better player and some more. One that is ready now to play on a regular basis without the quality in midfield dropping. It doesn’t mean that the club don’t believe in him. It could just be that they think there’s a quicker route to the top. It’s a different matter in the future where we won’t have to wheel and deal to the same degree.

If Longstaff leaves I’d like us to go for Samuele Ricci who most likely wouldn’t cost a fortune. He’s very good and can play DM and box to box and is at a great age.
