Well i guess for £1m it's not a too risky transfer. And i can for sure say that he's better than Ramage. Cannot compare him with baba/carr because they play in a different position. But i dont think Jon Jönsson would come here (if he was to make the best possible carreer decision). He would NOT be good enough for our starting 11 But i would rather go for someone else better for backup..

When me and a friend were in Newcastle a couple of years ago to watch NUFC - Aston Villa (dyer vs bowyer) We met a couple of other guys at the same hotel who also were from Sweden and were there to watch the game also. One guy's sister was Jon Jönsson's girlfriend. Well i guess who gives a s*** about that. In the Swedish league Allsvenskan he's really good. Has a great leap so therefore very strong in the air, and he has one hell of a strike. He's very comfortable with the ball at his feet and plays very often QUALITY longballs/crosses. He's simply a very good defender in the Swedish league. But in the PL? he has some good qualitys but the step from Allsvenskan to Premier League is too steep for him imo. Best choice he could make is to try for a transfer to either the french league or the dutch. And from there to one of the biggest leagues. Good player but not good enough for us yet. And he isn't very young anymore. I believe that he will end up in the french league and play there for a couple of years before moving to a midtable team in one of the three best leagues. I saw him play here in Borås last evening. Im working right know so i dont have time atm to say what i think. I have seen him play about 20 times live. I read that there were people from NUFC at the stdaium. If had known i would have put my Newcastle shirt on

Sagnol is probably the best right back in the game if were talking purely about the defensive side. He turned down a host of CL elite teams a year and a half ago to stay with Bayern, including the likes of Real and Juve iirc, when he could have left on a Bosman that summer (ie wasnt interested in the money on offer). Should be safe to say that we would have no chance. Jansen is a left back as far as i know

Wrong, Boumsong. Well i dont think he was shit at first. But after time he became shit.. What about Stéphane Guivarc'h who played for us up front, he was a world cup winner & mega s****. Well of course. But mostly players who are included in France squad are not exactly shit..

I read on a Lyon forum and there was a thread about Diarra leaving. I translated about 30 posts with AV as i dont know that much french tbh. I still could not get that much info about him. The only post that gave me some optimism about this player was where some guy mentioned that he's been excellent everytime he had seen Diarra play, but too badly he did not play enough. I dont know how that would help us being positive about this, but still, better than saying that he's been really crap there. And i guess you cant be shit if you were in the WC squad for France. I was going to register myself on that forum and ask for some opinions about him as a player and so on. But i didn't as i guess that generally the french people doesn't want to speak english or cant. Probably better spending time with my dog and learn it to speak chinese..

We need a squad though, Barton and Emre as creators and Butt and Diarra as holding players leaves us with a well equipped engine room. I appreciate we're not Real Madrid but they'll all get games and Butt might be past it in a year anyway so now is a good time to look for a long term holding player. Besides we may well be planning for a 4-3-3 formation next season in which case we will need another centre mid. I certainly would not say no to Manuel Fernandes in that case

been reading abit on a Lyon forum. He wants to play in the EPL and is cool on the idea of joining Pompey, i also read somewhere that he has refused to sign for pompey. Dont know how reliable that is though Rough translation from a Lyon Forum: Me I do not know so much what to think, each match which it plays it is excellent, it undoubtedly does not play enough (done with av) I guess it says that he doesn't now what to think, each game he plays in he is excellent, undoubtedly he doesn't play enough. Im glad that we will have som taller players in our team/squad for this new season that starts. Isn't there any french member on this forum that can light us up about Alou Diarra. I guess those french fans support Arsenal.

The price is £12m. The £6m or 9m euros is for Benfica's 50%. A consortium owns the other half. Oh ok. I see. I did not know that. But still a good player..

Dont know how reliable that paper is though. But i would really love him here, He's maybe not a real DM but he is class and his value will be higher in the future. Have been reading that Benfica wants £12M for him. He is class, proven in this league, young. Simply one for now and the future. Im sure that his value will rise alot over a season or two. He has almost everything you can ask for. Get him in!! Even if it costs us £10m+

And a defensive midfielder Butt is good for now, but we'll need someone after next season. If Derby are in the shitter come January, a bid for Giles Barnes would be top of my list. Manuel Fernandes maybe isn't the natural DM but i would love to see him at the toon. Class. And wil only get better..

I have not seen him play much at all really from what i can remember. But if he turns out to be a good PL CB then great as £3m is not much of a gamble. I have a feeling that we will be positively surprised if he signs..

I agree. And i have also rated Luque highly before. "if" and thats a BIG IF he can get him to play well again it's like a new really good signing..
