  1. Bang on. Nickson is a huge asset, the best at what he does - spotting, scouting and speaking to players - and a workaholic whose air miles are off the scale. But he's thinly spread, and must be among the people at the club most frustrated at not getting deals over the line. I guess he's just used to it by now. Way back in Jan 2019, he had Raphinha lined up on loan with a buying option from Sporting only for Ashley and Charnley to veto it.
  2. Agreed. Fantastic talent. Progressive carries agogo.
  3. This has come from the police.
  4. I’m told the derbies are scheduled for Saturday lunchtimes in October and February.
  5. Yep. Bullied Schar, and held it up well.
  6. Apologies, typed too quickly with fat fingers - meant 27 points in 28 games, not 47 points (I also forgot he actually had a watching brief for two more games than I’d calculated - so it is actually 24 in 26). So, it’s actually an even worse direct comparison with Howe. As for Froggy’s point re Howe’s January signings, Man Utd’s bench in Amorim’s first game cost £420m…
  7. Howe’s first PL season at NUFC: 43 points in 26 games. Amorim’s first PL season at MUFC: 25 pts in 27 games. Facts.
  8. They’re paying bigger wages
  9. Emegha, the Strasbourg striker, has been linked with us in France. Looks like our type of profile. He's very big but quick. Shades of Mateta about him.
  10. Agreed. He’s 27 😃, and started three league games in Brazil…
  11. Have you ever considered a career in politics? Pope has also made several saves.
  12. RTG reduced tonight to claiming we’ve spent more than Man U, transfer-wise - “close to a billion”, apparently - so should be hammering them every time.
  13. There’s nothing inverted about the countless inverted, right-footed runs he has made from left-back, both in recent weeks and when playing there last season vs the occasional overlap a la Monday night? Righto.
  14. Agreed. A very good right-back, but less effective going forward than he is on the other side, where he’s basically a near-perfect modern-day inverted full-back. I really wouldn’t be surprised if one of the cartel came in for him.
  15. I’ve only just learned that our win on Sunday was pre-agreed, courtesy of corruption. Thanks, as ever, to RTG for their investigative work.
  16. RTG is full of bile, obviously, but @nelford_safc has taken the last 48 hours worse than any of them. Genuinely astonishing - and epically sad - levels of bitterness.
  17. Mad. But not quite as mad as Sunderland’s situation being compared with Ukraine and Palestine…
  18. “Only live for sex and danger!”
  19. I mistyped there. I meant to say I also jacked in my s-t when Ashley binned off Rafa.
  20. What about categorising members based on how many ballots they’ve applied for? I was a s-t holder until Ashley was binned off and I’ve applied for all but one of the home games since the system was introduced. Games attended? One. Another thing I used to do, in addition to holding a s-t, was sing at matches. I also never booed a Newcastle player off the pitch…
  21. Of course there’s no comparison between both at their best. But Bruno was as bad in that second half as Longstaff has ever been.
  22. It’s clear he at least needs a rest.
  23. Seriously, if Longstaff had put in the “shift” Bruno did today… He was appalling.
