Same. As someone said above, even if they are talking about our game, it's usually guff anyway.
-
Both can be true.
-
Probably switch back to Spurs/Arsenal during our half time as well.
-
I get this is out of our hands, but to see him play 90 mins twice in one week for Italy, then that's used as a reason he can't start a game for us is annoying as fuck. We've been paying his wages for a year during his ban, then as soon as he's fit, his international duty takes precedence.
-
Protecting them so they can play twice in one week for Italy.
-
Yep.
-
What's funny about it is that the defender of those three probably has the most skill going forward.
-
Tbh the gameplan only works because it's Wolves. Play Longstaff and Murphy against a better side and we get footballed to death. Still, we ARE playing Wolves, so hopefully against the shitter teams, Murphy and Longstaff can more than match the opposition for technical ability.
-
Is he bringing the ball out really well? I did specify that part of his game which I assumed Lloyd would be better at.
-
No idea, but if Kelly can't get into the team when our two first choice CBs are out, not sure what that says about his role here. Unless Eddie just thinks he needs a long bedding in period.
-
Anyone a bit surprised he's not been able to dislodge Burn from the CB position yet? He's a left sided CB from what I know so should be the logical cover for Botman. I know Burn has done well defensively, but we are really struggling to bring the ball out since Schar and Botman were sidelined and our football in general has suffered on that score.
-
Well that's the point. The rules are being changed, but seems they are changed in order to maintain the position at the top to suit a favoured few 'elite' clubs. Otherwise why the sudden rush to change rules since PIF bought into the PL? If clubs don't have a pot to piss in, then they shouldn't overspend anyway. That's a stupider approach than preventing those who have money from spending it.
-
Thought you meant they were out of the game for a bit there, nearly had a coronary. If they are on the bench at least we have the option of changing things up.
-
Yes I thought that even while I was typing it out, but we are going to have to get used to the idea of Osula coming on, even if it's for defensive purposes and to give us fresh legs. Better than risking Isak breaking down through overplaying because we don't have confidence in a back up player.
-
Someone made this point yesterday, it's easy to forget just what a good defender Andersen was alongside Guehi. He offered all the physical attributes and positional sense which would have complimented Guehi perfectly. I remember us being linked with Andersen a year ago and watching a video of him came away really impressed, and I'm not usually a fan of defenders who aren't the quickest.

It would be great to spend within the rules if the rules didn't get changed in order to suit some favoured clubs above others. Take our club for example. We have owners who have been approved, and they have lots of money to spend in the manner of Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool etc. What is the logic behind stopping Newcastle spending their own money on players when other teams are still clearly spending a lot more? Where is the 'fair' part of FFP in this equation?
-
That's why I'm a bit surprised Howe isn't taking Isak off a bit earlier to save his legs. But I guess we haven't really had any matches where the result has been secured to afford us to do that in all fairness.
-
I hope Eddie starts making more use of Osula so we can see what he can do. If he can produce a few good performances then we can forget about Wilson if and when he's ready to start contributing,
-
That's how I see it. Howe has done a fantastic job in recruitment so far. So did Mehrdad and Amanada for that matter, but we are moving up a level and it's a specialist job, and presumably one which Mitchell is outstandingly well qualified for. Why not wait to see what he can do before we start assuming he can't work with Howe?
-
He hasn't done anything yet, but he hasn't been in the job two months. Our transfer recruitment has been decent since the takeover, but we've had to plough hundreds of millions into the squad to do that. Great if we are allowed to do it, but we aren't, that is why we had to sell two promising young players and sign a crap keeper for £20m. What has worked up to now won't work going forward. The sums just don't add up, doesn't matter which way you look at it.
-
Anderson is a cracking centre back tbf, even if he lacks pace. He sees everything a split second earlier than most.
-
Most aren't in any position to challenge the dominance of the cartel anyway, for them it's probably a non-issue.
-
He does, but that doesn't mean he's not good at his job. He has more than a touch of arrogance, but that might well come with knowing what he's talking about.
-
Quite simple really, we can't afford to buy players if we keep paying a premium for PL experience. Just take Elanga for example: £15m last season, now he's had a season behind him, Forest are knocking back bids for £50m. We need to be buying more players before their fees rocket due to PL experience.

We have to get wins away from home to reach Europe, and our best route will be teams like Bournemouth or Wolves. A point is acceptable, but if we mean business let's get back to being Toon Raiders and bring back all three.
