Some wonderful play on the byline to set up the chance I was talking about above.
-
What an awful strike that was. Had all the time in the world to line it up and smacked it straight into the crowd.
-
That was always going to be an option in case we couldn't come to an agreement on a new contract. I don't think it was a case of change of plans.
-
Incredibly petty but I can't help but agree.
-
The game's being played at a good tempo, just not much quality when it gets to the final third.
-
Misses the next match for winning a clean tackle.
-
How on earth did he get booked for that?
-
He's not really a journalist then, just a twat.
-
I think that's what we'll be looking for, someone who can play RW or striker at a push.
-
Even if he's set for life, no footballer at 30 is going to say no to more money. He can set the rest of his family up for life too!
-
It's not a disaster by any means. While we really need a striker who doesn't have injury issues and can be available for most of the season, it will cost a bomb to find one that isn't already being chased by cartel clubs assuming he's top quality. Personally still think he's leaving.
-
He won't be getting pushed, I mean how would you even go about doing that? Threaten to kidnap his family unless he signs the contract? It'll be a combination of being told he won't be featured much as he's getting replaced, and I would imagine a really sweet offer from Saudi which will set him up for life.
-
Well I presume he'd move to a part where they have a Liverpool connection.
-
Gordon's a very effective wide player, and if he's a Liverpool fan, at some point he probably does dream of playing for them. We will have to look at the possibility of selling him while we can still get the best fee possible if we take emotion out of it. It's a shame because I'm sure Gordon loves it here, and Liverpool are probably the only club who could turn his head.
-
How long does his contract run for?
-
Both would probably happen so it's not that paranoid tbf.
-
A bit surprised to come into this thread to read about the ins and outs of Tonali's betting woes. But I guess he is proverbially....like a new signing.
-
Didn't know that. Makes the alleged sale to Liverpool more plausible then.
-
I'd like to think so since all we've really done so far is sell a couple of promising youngsters, buy a young defender and a couple of washed up keepers for back up.
-
Tbh, I could understand if the PIF interest had waned a bit given that they would have bought the club to win stuff, and we've just had a series of roadblocks put up in our way since then. As for being a passive investment, was probably always that really. They'll put competent people in charge and let them get on with it. It doesn't mean they are going anywhere soon.
-
That would be very decent. I was thinking it would be more around the £5-7m at best.
-
Hasn't had that much to be arrogant about other than the goal tbh.
