Does that make a difference in PSR terms?
-
Which was my position to start with. It was said even last summer we were being quoted a massive premium for PL tested players. That is understandable in the short term, but you don't want to be left going into the last week of the transfer window still chasing them otherwise you've done something wrong. But at this stage just need to make sure we get a striker in regardless of where he comes from even if it means overpaying for goals. The next DOF will have to sort this out in future dealings.

Agree. I would have thought the thinking now is to keep Isak as he is the gold standard asset, and if we have to overpay for a Wilson replacement we can live with that if it saves our season. As long as the striker we buy is going to give us guaranteed goals.
-
Ok so he's 25 then. Still relatively young investment wise, you could sell him in two years without him losing too much value provided he does the business.
-
I like Wissa better as a player, but if you are going to overpay by £10-20m, then at least Larsen is only 24, so if he continues scoring goals he'll hold his value.
-
PL goals are always going to demand a premium, and those players are more difficult to buy as well. Doesn't mean they are better value though, sometimes it's just about timing. If we could have got Ekitike for £80m his ceiling is sky high at £80m. Now you could get clubs asking close to that for Jackson or Larsen, and because of the timing at the end of the window, they can do that.

Not going to lie I'd have been more encouraged by a simple nod of acknowledgment for the goal and respectful handshakes all round with his teammates.
-
You don't think they'll be haggling for a higher price now after he's scored two goals? I mean they were haggling over the price even before that.
-
That was my thought as well, looked like he celebrated that with real joy with his teammates.
-
It just means more delays and haggling at best. More likely they will decide he's not for sale after all, I mean his goals could well be the difference between survival and relegation. We really need to find a striker who we can get a deal done for without being told not happening 24hrs before the window closes.
-
I think the club thinking is the two would be Isak plus the Wilson replacement.
-
I've tuned in just for the penalties. Wouldn't suprise me if they were shit as well.
-
It's probably not that different to Newcastle tbh, a bit bigger, probably slightly less cool, but it does share the one club city aura.
-
Not if they are 5th and 6th choices anyway. These are Wilson replacements not Isak.
-
It was team news, he was well regarded on that. He got stung with the transfer shenanigans but this might be his redemption story. Or he could just be taking the piss.
-
He's backed himself into a corner now and he's sticking to his guns hoping we'll cave to Liverpool's offer when it finally lands. It won't be £150m so this is his last stand to get us to accept whatever derisory offer they come up with. Once we tell them no deal he'll have to deal with it, and that won't be easy.

It's not like Elanga is going to inspire much confidence as a striker through the middle either. It just wouldn't be worth spurning Osula for someone who doesn't even play the position.
-
4 hours ago. This one slipped under the radar.
-
He's backing up @Slim's cocktease post from earlier, there must be something in it.

An ITK blast from the past. Could this be Ando's redemption arc to align with Luke Baldwards!
